How to copy Hailey Baldwin’s matte 90s beauty look from the VMAs
When your outfit’s a little extra, sometimes the best way to make it pop is to keep your makeup simple.
That’s what Hailey Baldwin showed us at this year’s VMAs when she rocked a semi-sequined, semi-nude Zuhair Murad jumpsuit and kept her makeup somewhat to a minimum.
Hailey’s all-Urban Decay beauty look was designed by Denika Bedrossian to perfectly set off the jumpsuit.

STEP 1: The prep
Prep the skin with Rehab Makeup Prep Hot Springs Hydrating Gel ($28) and Rehab Makeup Prep Lip Love ($15). Then apply Optical Illusion Complexion Primer ($34) for foundation prep.
STEP 2: The skin
Next, apply NAKED Skin Foundation ($40) and contour the skin with the new NAKED Skin Shapeshifter ($45) (Hailey’s is in Light Medium Shift). Highlight over the apples of the cheeks for color and shine with Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter ($26) in Fireball.
STEP 3: The eyes
For the eyes, apply the shimmery shade from the NAKED Skin Shapeshifter ($45) on the eyelid. Then blend in 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil ($20) in Roach on the top of the lash line, bottom lash line and water line for a subtle smoky effect.
STEP 4: The lashes
Complete the eyes with a couple of coats of the new Troublemaker Mascara ($24) for long, sexy and voluminous lashes.
STEP 5: The lips
Apply, Vice Liquid Lipstick in Backtalk ($18) for a smudge-proof pout with a velvety finish.
