Cleo Lazuli’s Flawless Skin Tips

The sun’s rays are drying, so it’s essential you take care of your skin. The best way to avoid trouble? Include SPF in your daily skincare regimen. But there’s a whole lot more you can do — skincare and makeup wise. Film student and 80’s enthusiast Cleo Lazuli has a few tricks of her own. Read the Q+A below to find out her tips to flawless summer skin.

If you were a flavor of ice cream, would you be?

I’d be a big, creamy tub of Halo Halo flavored ice cream.

On a scale of prude to nudist beach enthusiast, where do you stand?

I’m a full on nudist beach enthusiast. As for myself, I’m cool with being clothed, but I don’t mind whether or not the people around me are, as long as I’m enjoying some sunshine and the seagulls aren’t weirdly aggressive, I’m having a blast.

Do you believe in ghosts?

Yes! A 100% yes, I’ve got some stories that’d spook everyone and their mamas.

Which Spice Girl do you most identify with?

Scary Spice!

The most important beauty product for festival season?

It’d have to be one of those refreshing facial sprays. I personally would use straight rose water in a spray bottle to save money.

What’s your biggest tip to healthy skin?

Be happy! Do things that make you happy and make you feel like you’re carrying sunshine in the pit of your stomach. Whenever I’m super happy and have been doing things that nourish and feed my soul, I seem to glow from the inside out. And, of course, water. Stay hydrated. I could never stress that enough.

What skincare products are you in love with right now?

I’ve never had a holy grail skin product, I kind of just respect my skin and it’s natural ways of being. If it wants to act up and pop out a pimple or two, that’s okay man, it’s just doing it’s job. But I think anything from the St. Ive’s line is super groovy and cheap.

What’s your favorite drugstore product?

I feel like people look down on Wet N Wild because it’s such a cheap brand, but I’ve been using their lipsticks, lip liners, and eye brow pencils since I was in middle school. I’ve been using their $1.99 eye pencils for my eyebrows since I can remember.

How do you keep your hair so healthy?

I barely wash it and honestly I get really stinky but HEY… at least my hair is poppin’.

What’s the sexiest piece of clothing you own?

Any of my footsie pajamas!

What’s the secret to the best Instagram post? Or better yet, the secret to the best OOTD pic?

I try to steer away from anything generic, or pictures that are just solely the outfit itself without any hint of my personality or substance. I always try to incorporate the things around me, and myself as an actual person, and not just display myself as merely a mannequin. Whether it be a candid shot of me running across the beach, or sitting in the back of my car after a long adventure, or me laying in a field of flowers not giving a care in the world about my allergies, I try to take pictures in a way that also embodies who I am.

If you had to wear one outfit for the entire year of 2016, what would it be?

Probably a big ol’ T-shirt and some thrifted dad jeans, just because it’s such a look and also the most comfortable in my opinion.

What are your thoughts on the monokini?

It’s not for me, but props to people who can rock it!

Who is your biggest style icon?

I thrift a good 99.98989% of the things I wear, so I’d say the grandmas and grandpas in my area whose clothes I have and am bound to pick up in the near future. Thank you guys.. you guys rock.
