We caught up with Choyce to discuss her journey as an entrepreneur, being apart of the LGBTQ+ community and everything in between.
FEATURE INTERVIEW:
When you reminisce on growing up in LA, what’s your favorite memory that comes to mind?
Honestly, my favorite memory is the simple stuff. Going to the beach with my family, the smell of the ocean mixed with food trucks and laughter, that was home. LA raised me in creativity and sunshine, and I think that balance of family time and city energy shaped me the most.
Having a mother as multifaceted as Tabitha Brown, were you surprised when she began to blow up on social media?
Not at all. I always knew my mom was special, like she has this gift to make you feel seen and loved no matter what. So when the world caught on, it felt more like finally. I was just proud to watch everyone else fall in love with her the way I always had.
Instead of playing the background, you created your own platform while your mom started becoming a household name. Take us back to that time in your life and talk about what you envisioned for yourself and the steps you took to get where you are today.
I knew early on that I didn’t want to just ride the wave of my mom’s success. I had my own vision and my own story to tell. I saw social media as a way to control my narrative, to share myself authentically. My style, thoughts, creativity. I started posting consistently, investing in shoots, studying what resonated, and over time it became its own community. I always envisioned myself as a brand, not just a personality, so every step was intentional.
You’ve built a community across multiple platforms where you share your life, business endeavors and much more. For anyone looking to build their own social media presence, what’s something you wish you’d known starting out?
That consistency is everything, but so is patience. It’s easy to compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. I wish I knew earlier that growth doesn’t have to be rushed. When you show up as yourself, unapologetically, the right people find you.
You’ve partnered with various brands like Target, Savage X Fenty and True Religion just to name a few. For 2026, what collab are you manifesting for yourself and what would this partnership look like?
I’m manifesting a collab with Dior. It’s luxurious, timeless, and so me. I see myself doing something fresh with them, editorial shoots that highlight not just the clothes but the feeling of being confident, soft, and bold all at once.
You’ve been open about being a part of the LGBTQ+ community early on in your career. Did you ever feel the need to “come out” to friends or family? What did those conversations look like if so?
Being younger I kept it a secret and then my mom actually just knew on her own from her intuition! And as I got older, I just started being. But I never had a big “coming out moment”. I was just me and the people who loved me accepted me. I’m transparent about who I am and thankfully my family created a space where I didn’t have to perform or explain.
Apart from content creating and modeling, you’ve gotten into your acting bag as well. Most recently starring as Jessica in Peacock’s “The One That Got Away” thriller movie. How did this role come about?
It actually came through my reps, and when I read the script, I knew I wanted to step into it. Jessica was fun because she’s layered, she’s not just a typical role. I wanted to challenge myself and show a different side of me, and that project was the perfect entry point.
When you think about your dream movie/tv show role what do you envision?
Something raw and layered, a role where I can transform. Like Zendaya in Euphoria or Viola Davis in “How to Get Away with Murder”. I want to dive into a character that demands everything from me emotionally and physically. I think that acting really allows me to step into different versions of myself that I don’t get to tap into often, so when I get to become one with a character I get excited! I think another dream role which I just must read for is in the new Bratz Live Action film. I know Kim Kardashian is involved and honestly, to work with Kim on a project, but also to embody a character that has always meant so much to me growing up is important. It’s what inspired this entire shoot. Sasha taught me to step into fashion and myself and for that I’m forever grateful.
You have something special in the works with KeKe Palmer’s production company that we want to know more about. What can you share with us about this new role?
All I can say is it’s bold, it’s fun, and it’s pushing me as an actress. Working with Keke and her team is a dream because she’s such a powerhouse. The project itself is called “Southern Fried Rice”, and I play Alex. Alex is that girl chile! The project is really one of becoming, which is where I am in my life now. I know it’s going to surprise people in the best way.
How was your New York Fashion week experience this month? What were some of the shows you attended and fun things you did while in NYC?
NYFW was so good. I loved seeing the creativity in real time! I went to the Private Policy, Kim Shui, Alexander Wang and the Off-White show, all of which were incredible. Outside of the shows, I just enjoyed the energy of New York. I got to attend a really amazing dinner that Spike Lee curated with Timberland. It was really inspiring to be in a room with all of my peers and see the community up close, it was special. I enjoyed late-night dinners, walking through Soho and honestly just people watching. I also went to an Afro-Beats party while I was there and it was such a vibe. The music, dancing, energy, it felt like a music video. A time was had!
Being 24 and achieving so much is a blessing and motivation to your supporters who are watching your journey. What is something you’d like to accomplish before your 25th birthday?
Before 25, I want to officially launch my swimwear brand, “Aniya”. It’s been in the works for a while and it feels like my baby. I want to give the world something that represents me fully. Soft, confident and cultured.
When it comes to fashion, what’s your current favorite item in your wardrobe? What do you love so much about it?
My Dior Saddle bag. She’s timeless and goes with everything. I love her because she feels like a staple piece that elevates whatever I wear, even if it’s just jeans and a tank.
You have so much fun with your hair, rather you’re rocking bantu knots, a bust down middle part or your natural hair. What’s a hairstyle you’ve never tried but think you could pull off well?
I’ve never done locs before, but I think I could pull them off well. They’re so beautiful and versatile.
What song is the current soundtrack of your life?
Love Drought” by Beyoncé. It’s soulful, vulnerable and powerful all at once. It reflects the balance I’m finding between love, growth, and stepping into my next chapter.
What is one item that you can never leave the house without?
My phone, for sure. It’s my lifeline for work but also how I capture memories and stay connected with the world.
Share with Galore readers one secret you’ve never told anyone.
I still sleep with a stuffed animal and her name is “Duck Duck”. It’s comforting and keeps me connected to my inner child no matter how grown I become. I’m also afraid of thunder and lightning, so she’s my girl for that LMAO.
