Instagram Loves These Celebs More As Couples
While almost every celebrity claims they’d be happiest if the rest of the world didn’t care about what they were up to, they don’t mean it – especially when it comes to love.
If the world foams at the mouth to get a glimpse of them and their boo, that means they’ll be getting the best and most sympathetic press coverage for however many months/years people keep caring – and even though all press is good press, nothing beats glowing press.
Plus it’ll get them hella likes on Instagram whenever they post a picture together.

While obsessively trolling celebrities in my spare time, I stumbled upon this realization that if you’re part of a beloved celebrity couple, your IG posts together will get about 1 million more likes than the rest of your content.
For instance, let’s start with Gigi Hadid and Zayn.
On average, Gigi’s Instagram posts get her between 800K and 2M likes, but the two times she posted a candid picture with Zayn this year, her posts have gotten over 3M likes.

And the same goes for Zayn. The only two IG posts of his that have gotten over 2M all year have been the two candid pictures he posted with Gigi.
TBH, they’ve both posted non-candid shots of them together that didn’t quite do as well, but those pictures still got more likes than a majority of their other posts.
And this rule proves extra true with Hollywood’s hottest relationship right now: Selena Gomez and The Weeknd. And since people are rabid to see their love, they don’t seem to care how candid the picture is – all it has to be is well-lit.
Selena’s Instagram posts get a lot of likes, but the only time this year she’s gotten more than 7M have been when The Weeknd’s been right next to her.
And the only time The Weeknd’s cleared 2M likes has been when he posted this picture of him and his lady love.
A few weeks earlier, he did make their relationship Insta official with this pic, but since you can barely see her, it stopped a little short of the two million mark. Although it still got him about a million more likes than he usually gets, so I don’t think he was mad about it.
And the only other major relationship the world stans for pretty much works the same way.
Kim Kardashian’s most-liked picture of 2017 is a candid-ish one of her and Kanye with their whole fam.

And while most of Kim’s Instagrams get 1-1.5M likes, these candid pictures of her and Kanye got at over 2M.
But this rule doesn’t extend to every celebrity couple – just the ones people care about.
Ariana Grande’s pictures with her boyfriend don’t do anywhere near as well as a really good picture of just herself.
And the same was true of Kylie back in the day when she and Tyga used to be a thing.
Which just goes to prove that having a boyfriend or girlfriend won’t give a celebrity an instant popularity boost.
Just like in real life, the only relationships people give a shit about are the goals ones.
