Featured Interview:

How did you create a genuine following and community via your TikTok and Instagram?

I was able to create a genuine following and community by being vulnerable with my audience. It’s essential for me to share the good and the bad because that’s life. Engaging with my audience is also very important and keeps our connection strong.

What a-ha moment recently made you go “Wow this is really happening”?

Being a member of the UNWELL Network alongside Alex Cooper and Madeline Argy is something that I’m still pinching myself over! I’ve been a follower of Alex’s for so long, so I’m really honored to learn and work alongside her in our newest venture.

Your acne journey and transformation are amazing. What made you want to share this story? Do you have any daily beauty rituals that you swear by?

When I was struggling with acne, I felt the most insecure I’ve ever been in my entire life. I thought that by posting my real skin, I would be able to help normalize it for others who are feeling the same way. When I posted my makeup routine on how to cover acne, it allowed me to be able to feel confident while struggling with these breakouts in real-time. I want to show my audience that acne is normal and not something to be ashamed of.

What drug store beauty item are you obsessed with currently?

I love L’oreal’s Glow Paradise Balm-In-Gloss. I recently discovered it and love it for adding some color and shine on top of my lipliner.

What is one beauty product you can’t live without?

One beauty product I cannot live without is my Too Faced “Better Than Sex” Waterproof Mascara. I have yet to find another mascara that has the same effect on my lashes while holding a curl. Even when I get my makeup done by makeup artists, I always request to do my own lashes!

What inspired you to create the Alix Earle Scholarship Foundation, and how did you celebrate after graduating from the UNIVERSITY of MIAMI?

After graduating I knew I wanted to stay connected with the University of Miami. The school gave so much to me over my time there and I wanted to be able to give back and help other students live out their dreams, just like I did. That’s where the Alix Earle Scholarship came into play. I’m so thankful I was able to create something meaningful to wrap up my time at the school and pay it forward. I celebrated graduation with all my friends and our families. We had a cocktail party and then we all went to the club!

What is next for you? Would you ever pursue acting or create your own beauty line?

I have officially joined Alex Cooper’s UNWELL Network, which is super exciting. I can’t share exactly what we’ll be up to just yet, but I can say that audience and authenticity are my main goals when creating content. I knew that whatever I did next, I wanted a partner who prioritized those two factors above all else, which I have definitely found in Alex.

With such a busy schedule, what beauty items are always in your travel bag when you fly?

I have been traveling almost every week for the past few months. My makeup bag has been through it. I keep all my products thrown together… It’s a bit of a mess. I can’t live without a lash curler & mascara in my bag!

What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?

If I could give advice to my 16-year-old self I would tell her to keep doing what she loves and not let other’s opinions get in the way. Growing up I was always the only friend who enjoyed taking photos, and making videos, and was obsessed with what social media had to offer. When I was younger, I definitely felt ashamed at times, so I would reassure her that she was on the right path and to keep being true to herself.

Living in Miami, how did you balance schoolwork, enjoying time with friends, and your career taking off all at once?

Living in Miami definitely forces you to be good at multitasking. There is always so much going on and I quickly learned my freshman year of college that you have to be good at time management. I would prioritize school and work during the daytime so that I would be able to hang out with my friends at night. It was especially a challenge during my last semester of college with my career taking off, but I was determined to make it work.

For our readers who want the Alix guide to Miami, what 3 places are visited in the Sunshine State?

I think three places in Miami that are essential to visit are LIV, Lagniappe, and Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne.

Being a creator, how are you protecting your mental health when dealing with negative comments?

When you put yourself online, there are always going to be negative comments or posts, so I prepared myself as best I could going into this. I’m so grateful to be in the position I am, so I try to not let the bad outweigh all the good that I’m surrounded by. Surrounding myself with my family and friends really helps keep me grounded.

How is your creativity disrupting the TikTok space and what makes you a rebellious creator?

I find my videos to sometimes be a little more “out there” than other creators. I’m not afraid to show my fun party side which I know some people like to keep offline.

Which TikTok creator are you currently obsessed with watching?

One TikTok creator I am currently obsessed with watching is Madeline Argy. I love her sense of humor and appreciate that she is able to be open and fully herself online.

Who are some women you look up to?

I really look up to all of the women in my family. Each one teaches me something new every day and I’m so grateful to have such a strong support system in them. My mom and stepmom show me so much strength and guidance while my younger sisters are constantly keeping me on my toes and always make me remember to enjoy every minute of life. I truly couldn’t do it without them

What is one thing the world would be surprised to know about Alix?

I think some people are often shocked when I am quieter than my online presence when first meeting them. My online persona is very fun and loud but when I first meet someone it takes me a little to fully warm up to them… I’m not always crazy.

What advice has your mom or stepmom given you that has made you stronger?

My mom has always been a great role model and guide for me. Growing up she would always remind me that what other people say about me does not matter. If I ever get overwhelmed, she immediately calms me down and reassures me that all the outside noise is not relevant.

Any tips for creating viral content for TikTok?

Creating viral content on TikTok can be tricky, but there are a few tips and tricks I keep in the back of my mind. You have to remember that our generation has a very short attention span, so you essentially should try to hook them in the first few seconds of the video. I also think it is important to have text overlay and make sure the consumer is never bored.

What is your idea of the perfect date night?

I am a sucker for a good date night. Going out to a nice dinner and sharing a bottle of wine is always my favorite. Extra points if they bring flowers!
