Kylie Is Back on YouTube — and We’re Taking Notes
Somewhere between summer’s glossy, sunburnt cheeks and fall’s inevitable return to brown liner, smoky eyes and actual clothes, Kylie Jenner just delivered the transitional makeup look we’ve been waiting for.
In her latest YouTube upload, Kylie brings us back inside her beauty routine — and yes, the makeup is good, but the real news is in the tiny adjustments. She’s plucking the ends of her brows. She’s back in her bottom-lash era thanks to Kendall. The blush has been turned way down. And suddenly the Kylie face is giving less Instagram baddie and more ’70s doll who knows something you don’t.
The brows might be our favorite update. Kylie revealed that she’s recently started plucking the very tails of her brows to create a rounder shape, then used an eyebrow stencil to help map everything out. And instead of relying on some wildly expensive backstage secret, she reaches for a roughly $10 brow glue to lock everything into place.
It’s proof that sometimes the most consequential thing in your makeup bag costs less than lunch.

The Kylie Beat Is Getting Softer
The rest of the face is where things get particularly fall-coded.
Kylie used her Kylie Cosmetics Classic Matte Palette to build the brown eye, but what makes the look feel current is what she doesn’t do: overpower it with blush.
Instead, the cheeks stay restrained, allowing those warm-to-neutral browns to become the focus. Add bottom lashes — a look Kylie says Kendall recently put her back onto — and the result starts flirting heavily with ’70s doll makeup.
Editor’s tip: If you’re recreating this for fall, mute the blush by a notch. Keep the cheek close to your natural flush, concentrate bronzer around the perimeter of the face, and allow brown shadow, separated lashes and a cool nude lip to carry the color story. It makes the whole face feel softer without becoming makeup-free.
Kylie also mixed shades of her Natural Blur Brightening Powder — available in translucent and soft pink — to brighten and blur. The formula is designed to create a lifted, soft-focus matte finish, which makes complete sense here: the goal isn’t glass skin. It’s polished skin that still looks like skin.
Her complexion started simply, too: gentle cleanser, sensitive-skin-friendly serum and oil-free hydration before primer — a step Kylie still considers one of the tricks behind achieving that signature finish.
Then came her Skin Tint Blurring Elixir in 5N, mixed with something much more interesting: an unreleased Kylie Cosmetics SPF. Kylie brought the complexion mixture down her neck, sharing that sunscreen is something she swears by at 29.
Okay, Kylie. We’ll be waiting for that launch announcement.
She added warmth with MAKEUP BY MARIO’s Skin Enhancer and used concealer strategically for a more lifted appearance, sculpting with an angled brush rather than simply blanketing the under-eye. The forehead stays noticeably clean and uncomplicated, letting the complexion breathe.
And we’ve been noticing this elsewhere, too: PinkPantheress recently played with a similarly restrained forehead in her Vogue beauty routine. Maybe the next evolution of sculpted makeup isn’t more product. Maybe it’s knowing exactly where to stop.
Brown Lip Season Has Entered the Chat
Naturally, Kylie wasn’t going to leave us without a lip combination.
She reached for the Kylie Cosmetics Precision Pout Lip Liner, including Chill Brown and Cool Nude in the shade range, to give the lips that cooler, sculpted neutrality that works ridiculously well against the brown eye. And this might be the easiest part of the look to steal right now: trade the warmer summer nude for something slightly greyer, cooler and browner.

And Then There Are the Cats
Because apparently a Kylie Jenner YouTube return cannot simply involve makeup.
We also got introduced to her three new cats, plus updates from Kylie’s current “princess era.” She jokes about going from a king to a princess — while simultaneously throwing a princess-kitty-poker-party-themed moment because, naturally, those words belong together.
But underneath the glam, Kylie also gets unexpectedly reflective about entering the final year of her twenties.
At 29, she’s been intentionally spending more time without her phone and reading more. Her latest finish was Colleen Hoover’s Ugly Love, which Kylie says had her laugh-crying by the end — an emotional reaction she hadn’t been getting from what she’d been reading lately.
It’s a tiny moment, but perhaps that’s why this return to YouTube feels so charming.
There’s no massive reveal required. It’s Kylie doing her makeup, talking about books, obsessing over cats and casually dropping enough beauty information to make us reconsider our entire brow shape.
After years of watching beauty content become increasingly polished, optimized and shortened into 30-second tutorials, there’s something comforting about watching Kylie simply sit in front of a camera and talk us through what she’s into again.
The YouTube girlies are healing.
