Finnigan Barrett — Galore’s first male cover model — proves the show had the ability to change lives. He always knew he was different, but didn’t know how to describe it until one day when he saw an episode of “Degrassi” featuring a transgender character.
“I was 12 and I watched a very good episode of ‘Degrassi’ and I learned what the word transgender was,” Finn told Galore. “And I was like, this episode’s kind of similar to a lot of my life, this is kind of weird. So I looked into it and I was like, ‘Oh, shit, I’m definitely trans. That’s what this is.'”
