Thank God Drake Has a New Song & 5 Other Drake Summer Songs

OMGGGGG, YES! I thought we were about to go into the summer without a Drake summer jam, which sounds like a horrible summer. Forget war & poverty, a summer without Drake is possibly the worst existence. AND GUESS WHAT? It’s f***ing awesome: NATURALLY. I used to hate Drake until he came in to my favorite bar Bossa Nova Civic Club in Bushwick and tipped a bunch I think/I hope/I dreamed. I wasn’t there, BUT THAT DOESN’T MATTER: I could feel his energy from two planets away.

Here’s his new song “0 to 100 / The Catch Up”, AND 5 other Drake summer jams (that may not have been released in summer, but I love them SO WHO CARES.)

Hold On We’re Going Home
I hated this song until I was convinced by the abusive amount they played this on the radio and then I was “Oh I get it now”. The radio bullies you into liking songs that you know are terrible, but now I like this song so much I have no idea if it’s terrible. Also the cutie in this video Ashley Moore was featured in our recent online editorial.

Started from the Bottom
The ultimate “we’ve made it” song. But still no one believes Drake was ever really at the bottom, but whatever it’s a figure of speech INNIT.

The Motto
URGH this song is so good- that’s all I have to say. OH WAIT, it isn’t. It also contains the best Lil Wayne lyric “Wish a n**** wood/would like a tree in this bitch”- makes so much sense.

Fancy
This is one for the time capsule. Drake lyrically proved he can relate to world through his use of language, just the simple use of “Nails did” takes your from Canada to relatable LOL.

Worst Behavior
This song was definitely not released in the summer, but I don’t give a f*** because I will be blasting it out of my laptop all summer so f*** you.
