Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have known each other since their Barney days — but they haven’t exactly been besties that whole time. Today, though, it looks like they might have reconciled.
Rumors of feuds have dogged them since 2010, when a paparazzo asked Demi how Selena was and she responded, “Ask Taylor.” Ouch, bb.
They appeared to have reunited after Demi spent some time getting treatment for drug and alcohol use later that year, according to this comprehensive timeline by Elite Daily. But in 2014, Demi unfollowed Selena on all her socials and said in a TV interview that they’d grown apart. A year later, they were back to posting selfies together.
Most recently, they were rumored to be privately beefing over Taylor Swift yet again. Demi subtweeting Taylor because she hadn’t spoken up about the allegations that producer Dr. Luke abused Kesha. Selena sources allegedly tattled to the press, saying Selena was aggravated at Demi’s choice to throw shade.
Whew, that is a lot of dirt. Let’s take a break to watch D and S on Barney as a palate cleanser.
Anyway, back to our tale. This week, Selena Gomez commented on Demi Lovato’s Instagram to applaud her for her new documentary.
She left three comments, and they were as follows:
Demi.
This was beautiful. I’m so happy for you. You always continue to be bold and real. I wish more people were like you
Love you
Predictably, fans started freaking out over the fact that “Delena” is a thing again. Selena did make the cut on Taylor Swift’s squad tee in her “Look What You Made Me Do” video, so it looks like she hasn’t chosen between the two friendships and is still pally with both ladies.
Now how about a Demi and Selena musical collab? Please?!
