“‘Things We Do’ is about stepping up and making bold statements,” says Linney. “Claiming your own opinions and decisions. As in, ‘this is how I feel. This is what I’m doing. This is where I’m going. And if you’re not coming with me, don’t stand in my way.’ ‘I’d Rather Burn’ is about overcoming obstacles and remaining steady in your path no matter what gets thrown in your way. ‘Famous’ is about giving someone so much attention that you could make them feel famous without all the artificial lights, glitz, and glamour. ‘Drummer’ is about breaking the rules and staying inherently true to yourself no matter what your friends say. For me, this release is about coming into one’s own.”
