The new models.com rankings are in and they have done the roundup on all of the industry legends, supers and icons. How do the rankings work? How exactly do you define a legend? Well, a legend makes such a lasting impression on the fashion world that she remains an undeniable presence, long after her supposed reign is over. She is iconic, versatile and memorable. And models.com certainly knows what it is talking about in this category. Christy Turlington, CLaudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford and Carla Bruni are undeniable legends.
What is the difference between a legend and an icon? When you think of an icon, you think of a model who changed the way the fashion industry thinks of a model. For example Karolina Kurkova, making her start at 17 years old in Victoria’s Secret, she has since bridged the gap between high fashion and commercial modeling, to reach the stance of a true fashion icon. In addition to Karolina, we have Karen Elson, Shalom Harlow and Kristin McMenamy gracing the icons list.
