Featured Interview:
How do you identify with your character Marco on the show?
Marco is very colorful, which I relate to. Marco also makes a lot of mistakes, which I relate to. And of course, Marco is navigating a journey of self-identity and gender discovery and that’s something I very much relate to. Our only difference, really, is that I’m a redhead right now and Marco’s hair is black.
What beauty product do you swear by?
I’m obsessed with sheer lipsticks right now. My current favorite is Chanel Rouge Coco Flash Lip Gloss in the shade ‘Flânerie 172.’ It’s so simple and so classic.

What is one beauty product you never leave home without?
Scented body cream! Right now I’m using something from Costa Brazil.
What is your beauty ritual before a date?
Full body shave, and then douse me in a million moisturizers, creams, and balms. The same ritual works well for competitive swimming.
How are you celebrating pride this summer?
This pride I started out by releasing my debut EP ‘SWELTER’ – and I’m ending pride by releasing my Netflix series ‘Glamorous.’ It’s been a big month for this girl!
How was it working with the icon Kim Cattrall, and did she give you any Samantha-esque tips?
She taught me to always carry myself like an icon, and I taught her what the words ‘Twink’ and ‘PrEP’ meant.

How important is it for you to play queer roles?
I’m really grateful to have played a character so flamboyant as Marco because I would have loved to have seen someone like him when I was a kid.
This is your first lead role, how did you celebrate when you got the part?
When I first booked the role of Marco, I celebrated by nearly getting into a car accident because I was crying tears of joy on my way home and accidentally ran a red light. And I celebrated the release of the show by buying my first pair of designer shoes.
What makes you feel Glamorous?
Doing my hair and makeup! Like Cher says in Burlesque, ‘When you’re putting on your makeup it’s like you’re an artist but instead of painting a canvas you’re painting your face.’
What is one piece of advice you would give your 16-year-old self?
Put. The tweezers. Down.
What is next for you?
I want a record deal to put out my debut album. I want to star in a campy comedy in the style of Drop Dead Gorgeous. But for now? I’m probably just going to take a big nap and watch 13 Going On 30.–
