MERCEDES-BENZ MEXICO FASHION WEEK TAKES OVER GUADALAJARA

With love from Guadalajara: Your Guide to Mexico Fashion Week!

It’s that time of year again, Mexico Fashion Week! This year Mercedes Benz Fashion Week hosts their Fall/Winter 2023 Fashion Shows in Guadalajara – bringing the best of Jalisco talent. What you’d expect on the runway was well delivered as we saw Designers play with textures, colors, and layers on this season’s hottest runway. MAC Cosmetics Mexico assisted in creating breathtaking looks that are super easy to re-create. Red lips seemed to be a trend that doesn’t fade out as we saw it done in matte and gloss this season. Mexican brand, No-name, created this gorgeous winged eye using glitter for its finishing, complimenting the bold designs we saw come down the runway. Our Editors have rounded up some of our favorite collections that came down the runway this season.

Lorena Saravia was inspired by the women in her family. Searching through images of what her grandmother used to wear made her rethink her brand’s sustainable values. In the details of her collection, we saw hints of Gold, tanned leather, and denim that felt just right.

Alfredo Martinez delivered a sharp, edgy, sexy, and bold collection for his fall/winter 2023 collection. The women that walked down his catwalk looked fearless, in bold shoulder jackets and lace tights that paired well with leather hot pants.

Mexican label, Toronero, delivered a collection that was inspired by the constant search for identity faced by the human species, proving that where you were born doesn’t necessarily dictate your destiny. We saw leather pierced with these amazing rings, leather that appeared aged leaving a vintage finishing to it, and edgy evening dresses done in leather with chain detail – keeping true to the brand’s core identity.

The perfect mix of Fashion and Nature made an appearance down the runway of Guadalajara label, Olmos y Flores. I was blown away at how the designer used bits of leather to create rose petals and the combination of Knit and Features seemed to steal the show.
