Lori Harvey dishes on her beauty must-haves
Lori Harvey exudes elegance and sophistication on-camera and IRL, so it comes as no surprise that this Capricorn is working her way to the top of the modeling industry.
You may have seen her in a few Dolce & Gabbana shows (and at our Girl Cult festival!) and she doesn’t show any signs of showing down. We quizzed Lori on her favorite beauty products, girl power motto, and more.
What products do you swear by for your skin?
I like to switch it up so sometimes I’ll use Mila Moursi products which are splurge items but definitely worth it and sometimes I’ll use Pixi products which are a lot more affordable and work just as well.
What tips have on-set makeup artists taught you about beauty?
I actually learned how to do makeup from my mom’s makeup artist and just watching him do her makeup, but I love to see what different products the makeup artists at Dolce and Gabbana shows use and I usually leave with a list of new products I want to buy!
What are your make-up must haves?
Pretty much anything make-up related is a must have for me, every time I walk into Sephora for just one or two things I always leave with a big bag full of new products to try out.
Are you a lip gloss or lipstick kind of girl?
Definitely lip gloss.
What is your go-to nail color?
I always wear a nude polish, “tiramisu for two” to be exact. But every now and then I’ll switch it up and get white on my toes.
What tips should every curly girl live by?
So I recently found out that drying your hair after you get out of the shower with an old t-shirt instead of a towel is so much better for your hair and it won’t make your hair frizzy once it dries like a towel will. That was like a revolutionary thing for me.
What make-up product do you think is the most underrated and why?
I think blush has become super underrated now because everyone is into finding the perfect highlighter and contouring, but blush just really finishes off a great makeup look to me.
What product do you never leave home without?
I never leave home without my babyhair brush, like ever.
How was it walking in Dolce and Gabbana show, and how has that changed your life as a model?
Every time I’ve walked in a Dolce and Gabanna show it feels like it’s my first show! My stomach always drops right before I walk out like I’m on a roller coaster, but that’s how I know I’ll be fine and then I’m ready to go! Domenico and Stefano didn’t change my career, they started my career and I’m eternally grateful to them for their continuous love and support for me.
What’s your girl power motto?
“A girl should be two things; who and what she wants” – Coco Chanel
Who’s your female hero?
My mom, hands down.
What’s the secret to self-confidence?
Doing and being what makes you happy, you can’t make everyone happy in life and it took me a while to learn that lesson; but once I did, I stopped caring about what everyone else thought and just started doing what felt right for me and what made me feel good.
What’s the last song you played?
“Broken Clocks” – SZA
Best advice from your mom?
“Don’t try to fit in when you were born to stand out”
What is next for Lori?
You’ll have to wait and see.
