LACES & BOH DORAN TRANSPORT YOU TO THAT MOMENT WHEN YOU HAD A SAFE PLACE WITH THEIR SINGLE ‘IN MY ROOM’

According to a study by Charles Feixa, an anthropologist at the University of Lleida, the room is like a second womb: a safe and protected space, in which we manage to accumulate the physical and emotional forces to face the world.

This is more or less what LACES & Boh Doran expose in the new single ‘In my Room’. A song that explores the nostalgia of what it felt like to be teenagers in our rooms but as adults, the feeling of shutting the door to the outside world and escaping to that imaginary world that still exists inside our bedrooms.

So now I’m in my room

Yeah, I’m dancing with myself

in my room

I can be somebody else

And I’ll build the moon

Do whatever I want

‘Cause I’m in my room

The song is a pop anthem with delicate sounds that get a little more intense in the chorus and are accompanied by the sweet and seductive tone of LACES.

โ€˜This song is meant to take us back to a time when we had had Backstreet Boys posters plastered all over our walls and Savage Garden stickers on our headboards; back to when we were jumping on our beds and singing along to Alanis Morissette and Christina Aguilera CDs with fake plastic microphones; back to when we could merely fantasize about what life could be as opposed to what it should be’, the artist said.

This girl-originally from the Jersey Shore-stared to notice the musicians coming from the Shore had this very unique passion that creates an undercurrent of boldness. She said that there seems to be a driving quality to the music and she thought she could be part of it.

Her real name is Jessica Vaughn, and under that name, she pens and produces music for Hasbro cartoons such as Jem & the Holograms, Baby Alive, Littlest Pet Shop, Equestria Girls, and more. She also has secured placements on series and specials on the CW, Netflix, ABC, and others, as well as films.

10 years ago, she moved to LA and created LACES, an alter ego that has been a sort of reminder of what ties everything together. A testament to all the places she has been musically, professionally, and personally.

Despite her success, LACES is more the kind of artist who gets the job done and stays a little short of the results. Now, she is more focused on doing good work and changing the industry to be a safer & more equitable space.
