Kourtney Just Acted So Weird When Asked About Kim On Live TV

Well, that was uncomfortable.

Earlier this morning, Kourtney Kardashian appeared on an Australian morning news program and got super awkward as soon as her sister Kim’s name was brought up.

“You should know that the people of Australia and of our show were very empathetic about what happened and very horrified,” one of the show’s co-hosts explained before asking the one question Kourtney had to have known was coming. “We were wondering, how is everyone doing, and how is Kim doing?”

But instead of answering with a chipper, insincere “she’s fine,” an incredibly stoic-looking Kourtney answered, “Ummm,” her eyes instantly going over to what we can only assume was an unseen publicist hovering in the background.

“What?” Kourtney asks her publicist, who can be faintly heard in the background. “Okay,” Kourtney replies, and then proceeds to sit in silence, presumably listening to her publicist explain how she should be handling this question.

“I’m sorry, is there someone talking to you?” one of the anchors asked Kourtney.

“Yeah, sorry,” Kourtney replied, without taking her eyes off her publicist. “They just came in.”

And then, silence again.

After about 15 seconds of silence, the Australians gave up on Kourtney, saying, “I think she’s totally blanking me on that question. She could just say her sister is fine! I mean I think we just said that you know we’re very concerned, and we were on her side and we hoped that everyone’s fine, which I still do.”

Later on in the show, Kourtney re-connected to the show’s hosts to *actually* answer the question saying, “We just had a bad connection and everybody was talking to me but yeah, I mean she’s not doing great. I think we’re all really still shaken up and I just – you know, I think she has a big supportive family and I know that, like, all of the traumatic things that we’ve been through, you know, we get through them together as a family and that’s what family is all about.”

Why she couldn’t say this from the beginning is anybody’s guess but let this be a lesson to you all: when you became rich and famous, make sure you talk to your publicist about how to answer any delicate questions BEFORE you get on live TV.
