Khloe Kardashian Is Now Selling Jeans With ‘Contour Waistbands’

Just in case you haven’t been keeping up with Kris Jenner’s least favorite child, after weeks of teasing us, today Khloé Kardashian finally launched her new denim company, Good American.

Good American was started because one day Khloé sat down with her friend Emma Grede and realized “there was something missing from the denim community. Whenever we bought new jeans, it was hard for us to find a pair that fit our body types, and even when we did they’d always need alternations,” Khloé writes on her site. “We knew if we both had this problem, there must be tons of girls who did too.”

While these jeans may look like ordinary denim to you, they’re not. Fashionista notes that Khloé’s jeans offer “contour waistbands, stitching details, and special fabrications [that] give each pair a precise fit designed to flatter every curve.”

I tried to reach out to Good American to figure out WTF “contour waistbands” were, but haven’t heard back yet.*

Currently, Good American jeans are offered in three silhouettes: skinny (“Good Legs”), boyfriend (“Good Cuts”) and high-waisted (“Good Waist”), most of which cost between $159-$189.

While the skeptic in me can’t help but wonder if maybe close to $200 is too much to pay for a pair of Kardashian-blessed denim, Kylie seems to love her pair, so maybe they really are worth the three digit price tag.

If you too are curious about whether Khloé’s jeans live up to their price tag but are too skeptical to buy a pair online, you can head to your local Nordstrom and try on a pair IRL.

Or at least you can if you live in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Texas or Washington. If you live anywhere else, do not go to Nordstrom because they will not have the jeans and may not even know WTF Good American jeans are.

If however, you are one of those lucky people in driving distance, please go and e-mail me your thoughts/feelings/concerns to maria@galoremag.com.

*UPDATE: Good American customer service got back to me and told me, “A contour waistband is one that is higher in the back so that if fits the body better.” In other words, it’s just a waistband with a buzzy name.
