FEATURE INTERVIEW

You are a versatile actor, your character Cane Tejada is ruthless, but you also are a comedian. I loved your Kevin Hart reenactments! How do you balance the darker and more dramatic characters with the Woody known for his comedic takes?

Honestly, I enjoy acting so much it never really feels like I have to “balance” anything it’s all fun and make-believe to me. I’m in the zone of not taking myself too seriously and just having fun with the gifts I’ve been blessed with.

You have really been excelling in your role in the series “Power”. How has your character Cane Tejada impacted your personality in real life?

We all can be sweethearts and badasses lol but embodying Cane allows me to live my badass moments without any judgment. Whatever I’m going through in my personal life I can feed that energy to the character.

Are you close with anyone from the show Power?

Absolutely. We’ve all become a family within a short time and I love it.

What would be the top 3 roles you have played so far?

Wow, this is a hard one. I couldn’t even put them on a list. I love them all equally.

As a multi-hyphenate artist, what are your strengths and weaknesses?

My strength would probably be taking direction and collaborating. I look at acting like sports. It takes a team to win. My weaknesses would be not spending enough time with my family and friends because I’m so consumed with work.

You were a dancer before you acted. Would you want to direct a film, or creative direct visuals for a photoshoot or a music video? There are so many nice shots of you with the wardrobe and the creative direction, and I wonder how much of that is influenced by your own input.

I love this question nobody has ever asked me this. I really want to direct music videos. I have so many cool concepts in my head that I want to get out.

If you could direct a film, or work along with your favorite actors/ actresses, who would they be?

Another tough one. Viola Davis, Mahershala Ali, Nicole Beharie, Jonathan Majors, Daniel Day Lewis, and Leonardo DiCaprio just to name a few but the list is long

What good vibes are you manifesting in the new year?

Great health and wealth to all my friends and family
