Kayla Brianna Is Houston’s Next R&B Princess

Galore met up with iHeart Radio Music Award nominated recording artist Kayla Brianna to chat about her girl-power collab with Dreezy and where she gets inspo for her hit R&B songs.

Where are you from?

I’m originally from Houston and moved out to LA to pursue acting, just like 80% of people out here. I eventually landed a deal with Interscope Records, then went independent and have been recording and touring ever since.

What have you been working on most recently?

Right now I have been working with London On The Track on my EP coming out this year. I also got nominated for an iHeart Radio Music Award so I’m freaking out trying to figure out what I’m going to wear to it, even though it’s in a month.

What are the lyrics about in your songs?

The lyrics are mainly about the relationships I’ve been in over the past couple years — the good, the bad, the ugly. Then there’s also fun club records like “Luck” which features Dreezy. That track is a great sort of female anthem.

What are you working on for the future?

I’m working on releasing my music video for my newest single. I’m also preparing for a role in an upcoming TV show.

Who are some of your biggest inspirations?

My most major inspiration is Beyonce, for obvious reasons and the fact that we’re both from Houston. I also love Rihanna, Brandy, and Aaliyah.

Who’s a big style icon for you?

Rihanna.

What’s your favorite beauty product of the moment?

I’m loving a great concealer so right now, NARS has a really dope one that I use every day. It’s called the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.

Who is your dream artist to collaborate with?

Definitely Drake.

Where can we find your stuff?

My IG and twitter are: @kaylabrianna. You can check out my tracks on Spotify. Show some love!
