Kanye Bought His First Cell Phone Just to Torment Kim About Kris Humphries in 2011
Do you remember your first cell phone? If you’re a normal person, you got it so you could stay in touch with your friends and maybe take selfies, and you got it from your parents after weeks or months of begging.
But if you’re Kanye West, you held out until you had a very good and very specific reason to get one: making fun of Kim Kardashian’s decision to marry Kris Humphries.
On this week’s episode of “Kocktails With Khloé,” god rest its cancelled soul, Kanye talks about how he didn’t have a cell phone for a really long time. And what prompted him to finally get one was not a general need to be in touch with acquaintances, but an urge to point out to Kim that marrying Kris Humphries was not the best idea.
“I got a phone because somebody decided they want to marry Kris Humphries,” Kanye said, later adding that he would text Kim photos of washed up basketball players in ugly pants with the caption, “This is your future!”
“I honestly forgot that happened,” Chrissy Teigen said, before Khloé agreed that she “forgot about the Humphries marriage, too,” which… okay, sure.
