Justin Bieber’s Face Tattoo Has a Deep and Meaningful Backstory

The main question on people’s minds after learning that Justin Bieber went and got a face tattoo, the ultimate bad boy accessory, is why?

In case you missed it, on Friday night, shortly before giving an impromptu mini-concert at Up & Down, young NYC’s favorite club to be seen at, Justin and his photographer friend Joe Termini decided to get tasteful face tattoos that on first glance looked like a mix between a freckle and a spot of dust.

In reality, they were tiny crosses.

Resting up for the show in Philly it’s gonna be a good one mark my words

According to a statement Bieber’s tattoo artist, Jonathan ‘Jonboy‘ Valena gave to Us Weekly, Justin’s face tattoo “represents his journey in finding purpose with God.”

Are you surprised that Justin’s tiny cross tattoo has something to do with religion?

You’re not?

Us either.

Still, we are kind of surprised that Justin got the tattoo in the first place seeing as he just told GQ that he wasn’t going to get one until he was “really old, not super old, but maybe, like, 40s or 50s or something.”

So either 20s are the new 50s, or Justin felt really old, but not super old on Friday night.

Or he just did that thing that all human beings do all the time called changing your mind.

Either way, Justin Bieber’s face tattoo is real, so chances are we’re about to see a wave of  15 and 16-year-olds drawing fake face tattoos on themselves as a placeholder for the day when they can finally convince their cool older siblings to let them get one for real at their next stick and poke party.
