How Zoe Elyse Achieves Her Perfect Highlight

Meet Zoe Elyse, our Instagram girl of the week!

Zoe’s a model living in Los Angeles with an Instagram account full of all the beauty, style, and travel inspiration a girl could ever need. We caught up with her to find out her go to beauty products at the moment and even her secret to the perfect highlight. See what she had to say, below.

The most important beauty product for festival season?

Sunscreen, always! I use baby sunscreen because my skin is really sensitive and light and then I use a moisturizer with SPF on my face before applying makeup.

What’s your biggest tip to healthy skin?

Lots of water and a face wash that works for your skin. I have ultra sensitive skin, so I’ve used the same products for years because it works for me! Constantly testing new cleansers and formulas can irritate my skin, so I stick to a routine.

What skincare products are you in love with right now?

I’m obsessed with this sheet mask I just tried out called WHEN. I used it the night before Coachella and stored the remaining gel in the packet to put on my face in the morning. I got home from Coachella expecting my skin to look tired and dirty, but it was seriously radiant. All because of the mask!

What’s your favorite drugstore product?

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser is my jam. I know for some it shows no results, but it has always kept my skin fairly clear – minus the few zits here and there. Oh, and L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara!

How do you keep your hair so healthy?

I space my hair appointments out instead of touching up my roots every month. I usually go 8-10 weeks without touching my roots just to give my hair a break. I also use a hair mask every time I wash my hair!

If you could only do one workout forever what would it be?

Well, I hate working out. But I would do yoga forever if I had to! I think there’s more to yoga than just the physical benefits, so I prefer to do yoga any time I work out.

What nail polish color would you be?

I’d probably be an Essie color for sure! Maybe a light mauve or dusty rose. Something subtle but still expressive and sweet!

Do you have an emergency pimple fixer?!

Tea tree oil, always! You can get different types of it, but I always get the straight up essential oil. I dab it on my finger and then on my zit after washing and moisturizing at night. When I wake up, the size and redness is significantly reduced… if not gone!

You’re going out for dinner and drinks with the girls. What color lipstick are you wearing? Any particular brand?

I’d either go for a bright red/orange or a nudey pink! Depends on my mood. I use all types of brands, but I love my Makeup Forever Aqua Lip Liner in 22C! It’s the perfect nude pink.

You’re going on a date and you’re going for sultry lashes. Do you choose strip lashes or extensions?

Strip lashes! I love the look of extensions, but I do tend to be tough on my eyes when removing makeup and I don’t want to rip any out or irritate my eyes.

It’s festival season and you’re shopping for bronzer. Which one do you buy?

I don’t use bronzer too much, but I like to use a highlighter in a darker shade than my skin to create a bronzed and glowing effect. Specifically, Becca in Opal!

Your brows got waxed a bit too thin. What product do you use to fill them in?

I personally use a brown gel to hold my eyebrows and fill them in. I haven’t found a pencil I’m really fond of yet though! I used to over wax when I was younger, so I try to stick to just cleaning the edges up with tweezers now that they’ve grown out.

You’re about to be on long flight. What product do you never fly without?

A really good face wipe! I’m currently obsessed with Milk Micellar Water Makeup Remover. And a hydrating face mask!
