It’s day #2 (for me) at NYFW and today’s show highlight is the New York Debut of Ultra-cool Designer Heron Preston. One would assume Preston showed a collection last season given his presence in streetwear style, this will be Preston’s first collection in NY since 2016. Upon show time, the entire room is toned orange, a signature hue for the brand – the room is silent and the music began. I felt so much energy in the room, from Buyers to Editors taking their seats to his A-list guests which include: Jordyn & Jodie Woods, Natalia Bryant, Brittni Mealy to name a few. He truly captured the essence of who he is as a Designer with his stagging and location of choice.

The opening look: A sheer, knitted catsuit paired with gloves and faux-fur heels – Preston’s “Anything Goes” approach to Fashion is what keep’s him ahead of his peers – which, by the way, is the title he gave to this collection. Some of the eye-catching pieces I saw were these chainmail cover-ups, which he styled over the model’s heads and chests. Preston knows exactly what his consumers want – An edgy piece that will take you from basic to baddie, to say the least. I absolutely loved the overall styling for this collection (Look #12 you are on my mind 4ever), the models were giving “Main Character” energy, and each look was perfected down to the details. Heron told interviewers “I wanted to create the experience that when you walk into the space there is nothing, and when you leave there is something left behind” – I felt just that.
