The Spice Girls Are Officially Having A Reunion, But There’s a Big Catch

This week marks the 20th anniversary of the Spice Girls’ first single “Wannabe,” and to celebrate, the famous girl power-toting Brits made an announcement via Youtube that’s equal parts good news and bad news.

The good news?

They’re having a reunion, which will probably take place next July in London’s Hyde Park.

The bad news?

There’s only going to be three of them there, and they maybe won’t even be going by the name the Spice Girls anymore.

Instead, it looks like they’ll be going by the name GEM, which is an acronym of the first names of the three Spice Girls foolish/brave enough to carry on without the full weight of their brand behind them: Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel B.

Are you disappointed?

Because we’re disappointed.

Honestly, can they even call it a reunion, or is it just three friends playing dress up at an elaborate karaoke party?

Granted, out of all the OG Spice Girls, Sporty, Baby and Ginger are by far the group’s most valuable members, but will it really be worth whatever obscene amount they decide to charge for tickets?

Of course, nothing is absolutely confirmed yet but sorry GEM, but we just can’t say we’ll be there.
