EXCLUSIVE: Gianna Christine is THAT Girl. How the NYC It-Girl is Making it in the Big City.

From college student to modern day Serena Van Der Woodsen, Gianna Christine is the ultimate NYC it-girl. What started as a school project, quickly became a full time career. From sharing the hottest spots in NYC to her iconic fashion looks, Gianna is proving she is that girl.

We sat down with her to discuss her career, life in the city, and of course, fashion. You can follow her on social media here.

Q: Hi Gianna! We are so excited to chat with you! You are so inspiring to millions and we can’t wait to learn more! Your career in content creation came to be in such a unique way! Tell us more about the school project that turned into a full time job.

A: My journey into content creation is definitely unique! I was attending Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, and as part of my major, I had to take a Social Media class. One of our assignments was to create a TikTok account and post daily videos. Within just a few weeks, my videos started to gain traction, and one even went viral with over 5 million views! After graduating, I kept up with the posting schedule, and what started as a class project turned into a full-time career in content creation. Not only on TikTok, but diversified across all platforms.

Q: You’ve become known as a NYC it-girl. What does being an it-girl mean to you?

A: For me, it is all about authenticity! I love when people have a personal style that truly reflects their personality, rather than just chasing microtrends. Especially in NYC, it’s about immersing yourself in the art, culture, and community around you—taking inspiration from it all while staying true to your own unique vision.

Q: Are there any other it-girls who inspire you?

A: Absolutely. I recently met some incredible WNBA players at the draft, and I was so inspired. They not only dominate in their sport, but they also showcase their unique style during the tunnel walk before the games. They walk into a room with presence, whether it’s on the court or at an event—and to me, that’s the definition of an it-girl!

Q: Your content seems to really resonate with your audience. How do you prioritize creating authentic content?

A: I post so frequently—over 100+ times a day on Snapchat—so it’s become second-nature to share all aspects of my life. It’s so important to me to stay connected with my community, so I’m constantly reading replies and comments. It’s like sharing moments with friends!

Q: What is the best part of your job?

A: Definitely the people I get to meet! It’s wild to think that this all started with me filming videos alone in my room—and now, living in the city, I run into people almost every day who’ve seen my content. Those moments are by far the most rewarding part of what I do. There’s something really special about connecting with people who not only enjoy what I create, but also relate to it and share their own NYC stories with me. It makes everything truly full-circle.

Q: You share a lot about your life in NYC online. What is your ideal day in the city?

A: It starts with a Pilates class to get moving, followed by a chill moment with an iced latte and croissant at a cozy spot like Frenchette Bakery. After that, I love exploring museums—The Frick is my favorite, especially since it recently reopened. Then I’d head to Brooklyn, specifically Bedford Avenue, for some thrifting and to pick up a few fun, unique pieces. For dinner, I’d meet up with the girls to try a new place we’ve been saving on our ‘Beli’ list. I’d end the night at a jazz bar—it’s the perfect vibe for meeting new people while enjoying amazing music! And if you want…you can follow my entire real-time journey everyday on Snapchat

Q: What have been some of your favorite fashion trends lately?

A: Lately, I’ve been loving bikinis with hanging charms—they’re such a glam way to level up your poolside look. Now that it’s finally warming up, I’ve been obsessed with miniskirts, especially paired with breezy summer textures. And I can’t get enough of statement belts- they instantly add personality and polish to any outfit!

Q: What trends do you think we will see more of this summer?

A: I’m definitely seeing more beaded bags this summer! I have a zebra print one I absolutely love, and I’ve been noticing more popping up everywhere. I love mixing different textures, and these bags add such a fun touch. With the boho aesthetic making a comeback, I think sheer maxi skirts are going to be huge this season—perfect for that free-spirited vibe. I’m also loving the mix of sporty pieces, like jorts, with girly blouses. It’s such a cool contrast that feels fresh and effortless.

Q: Where are your favorite places to shop?

A: NYC is home to some of the best vintage shops, perfect for finding unique and sustainable pieces. My go-tos are Bedford Vintage, Funny Pretty Nice, and Tired Thrift—each one has such a great selection. I also love using Phia to shop for the best secondhand clothes online. It’s an amazing way to find hidden gems and keep my wardrobe eco-friendly!

Q: What are some of your style tips?

A: I’d start by building a solid foundation with your perfect basics—things like a white tank top, jeans, and a little black dress. From there, you can elevate your look with some bold statement accessories. It’s all about mixing and matching these core pieces to create new outfits that always feel fresh. Personally, I never run into the ‘nothing to wear’ problem because I can always rely on a go-to combo paired with fun heels and jewelry to feel put together. And don’t forget the power of a great tailor! You can thrift amazing pieces at more affordable prices and have them tailored to fit you perfectly.

Q: What’s next for you?

A: I’ve got some exciting travel plans in the works and am hoping to go on a fun girls’ trip soon! And even though I share so many short videos daily, I’m also branching out into long-form content on YouTube. I’m excited to explore new creative avenues and share even more with my audience.
