Art Basel Recap: Here’s What You Missed in Miami

Didn’t make it to Art Basel this year? Don’t worry, we did. So put on some of your fave self-tanner, bump your favorite DJ’s latest Soundcloud mix, and take a quick peek at some of the hottest parties and events we hit in Miami this weekend.

Pītusa hosted the perfect pregame

Corinne Olympios

Resortwear brand Pītusa hosted a Thursday night soiree at their Wynwood store to kick off the weekend. You might be thinking, “Just how lit can a party in a store be?” Well, if you were at Pītusa’s event, you’d have your answer: pretty freakin’ lit.

The drinks were flowing, the guests were looking (& feeling) as colorful as Pītusa’s resort wear, and when the live Cuban band started playing, the front of the store turned into a dancefloor!

Meta brought Silicon Valley vibes to the 305

Wanna know how Meta parties when they get to MIA? Here’s a hint: it involves Mixed Reality, a waterfront mansion, and lots of tequila.

The party was a celebration of Meta’s new “It’s Your World.” campaign. So naturally it included a demonstration of how the Meta Quest 3 works, with none other than Victoria Monét, Austin Millz, and Vashtie. Spoiler alert: if you’re trying to learn an instrument, these babies work kinda like Guitar Hero IRL—AKA, it makes learning how to play an instrument way easier than before.

Givenchy celebrated their spring 2024 collection

What’s in style for Spring 2024? If the Givenchy Spring collection party is any indication: we’re going to see lots of rhinestones and those boots that kind of look like they had a baby with a pair of leg warmers. Givenchy celebrated their Spring 2024 collection at the Bentley Residences showroom where guests sipped on Ace of Spades, snatched up Givenchy beauty goodies (their Le Soin Noir night cream is an essential for these dry winter months), and posed with some classic Bentley cars.

Art Hearts did a hat trick with 4 parties in a row

Art Hearts fashion took a look at your Art Basel calendar and said, “hold my mezcal.” They hosted not one, not two, but FOUR events throughout the weekend at iconic Miami hot spots like Kiki on the River and DREAM South Beach. Just remember, Art Basel isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon, and Art Hearts had the stamina with their parties, many of which included runway shows.

Your faves shopped the Marni x Curio pop-up at Faena

Nicky Jam

CURIO at Faena Bazaar hosted a private “who’s who” Art Basel fashion event, featuring a MARNI X CURIO pop-up. Guests—which included Nicky Jam and Rich the Kid—enjoyed an evening of curated cocktails and live customizations by artist Victor Valverde.
