Amber filed for divorce on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences, TMZ is reporting. She is allegedly seeking spousal support from the Oscar-nominated actor, according to the Associated Press. The couple did not have a prenup, nor do they have any children together.
Johnny met Amber on the set of the film The Rum Diary in 2009, while he was still with his partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis. The couple then married in February 2015 with a small beach ceremony on Johnny’s private island in the Bahamas.
Johnny later stated that his relationship with Amber did not begin until after his split from Vanessa in 2012.
There’s been divorce rumors following the couple since last year, but Amber’s always shrugged them off: “I try not to react to the horrible misrepresentation of our lives, but it is strange, and hard,” she told Marie Claire in December.
The news of this divorce comes at a terrible time considering Entertainment Tonight reported Johnny’s mother passed away on Friday.
