Too Clumsy For Lash Glue + Too Noncommittal For Lash Extensions? Glamnetic Lashes Are About To Save Your Glam Life
I went to college 15 minutes from South Jersey, so on a night out with my girlfriends, false lashes were a must.
Unfortunately, I could not for the life of me put false lashes on properly. Honestly, I don’t think I even tried because I was so inexperienced with makeup in general at that time (and low key still am). But thankfully, I always either lived with, or was getting ready with a girlfriend who could effortlessly apply some Ardells and lash glue to my eye lids, and help me look my best at the nightclub (or the playboy bunny themed frat party).
Fast forward to now, and while I generally don’t wear falsies for a night out (I rarely hit the club anymore), I do still like to wear them for Instagram photoshoots or for special occasions. I’ve gotten better at putting them on, but I still need a lot of makeup remover (to get rid of the extra glue) and a lot of patience. Not to mention, I need to expect to wake up with black crusty glue around my eyes the next morning, because that glue sticks around.
Clearly, I’m not the only one who’s unsatisfied with the false lash options out there, which is why many women opt for more permanent lash extensions that don’t require daily application and glue. But, for those of us (myself included) who want to rock our natural lashes on a day-to-day basis, and falsies on occasion, there’s Glamnetic.
Glamnetic are magnetic lashes that come with a magnetic eyeliner. Basically, you use their special magnetic eyeliner, place the lashes on your lash line, and the lash will stay put. No glue, no mess, and no panic attack if you accidentally glue it to the wrong part of your eye (with Glamnetic it’s very easy to pop them off and back on if you need to adjust).
When I tried these lashes myself, I was honestly shocked at how easy they were — especially because I already apply top liner daily, it was literally a breeze.
The lashes I tried were definitely a bit dramatic, but they offer more natural sets, and you can always cut them down if necessary. If you ask a makeup artist, they’ll always tell you to cut lashes to your eye shape/size/preference/etc. But, the best part for me was that there was no mess. I didn’t ruin my face makeup by having to remove a clump of black lash glue, and the eyeliner stayed put too. In fact, I had to work a little extra hard to remove it, but it was definitely nothing like the residue left from lash glue.
I can’t be sure, but I have a feeling the reason Glamnetic lashes work so well is because they were created by a woman who actually wears them.
Bangkok-born Ann McFerran launched Glamnetic last summer, and let’s just say her hunch that there was a gap in the market for magnetic lashes that worked paid off — Glamnetic now does 7 figures per month in revenue. And, in addition to being a boss, she’s a total babe:
If you, like me, are relying on your perfectly spray-tanned & contoured friends from New Jersey to apply your lashes for you, I have bad news: you are going to grow up, and potentially live alone (or maybe even live with your partner — and if you’re straight I can bet you that your boo is not going to be able to help you with your lashes).
You can practice applying false lashes, or you can just get these magnetic lashes that even the most makeup-phobic babe can master. I would personally recommend the latter (oh yeah, and you can totally reuse them because you don’t have to worry about unsightly glue clumps — just clean the lashes with makeup remover).
