The 7 Best Halloween Episodes From Your Favorite Shows

Do you really know what season it is unless your favorite shows play reruns of holiday themed episodes? Probably not.

In fact, one of the best things about the holidays is just this. As Halloween approaches, we thought it might be fun to take a look at some of the best Halloween episodes from some of our all time favorite shows.

1. Gossip Girl – “How To Succeed in Bassness”

In the six seasons that Gossip Girl graced our television screens, our favorite Upper East Siders took us through a multitude of seasons and holidays.

But, one of our absolute favorites has to be the Halloween episode where Chuck throws an epic costume party to kick off the unveiling of his new nightclub. The episode is filled with Chuck and Blair drama, Jenny’s antics to find a party in avoidance of handing out candy with her parents and, of course, a whole new level of incredible fashion within the flapper themed extravaganza.

2. Friends – “The One with The Halloween Party”

While there are about a million reasons why we love Friends, the way they tackle holidays has to be at the top of our list.

In this Halloween themed episode, Monica and Chandler throw a crazy costume party featuring Chandler in a bunny costume, Phoebe falling in love with her twin-sister’s fiancé, and Rachel unsuccessfully trying to bond with children.

Plus, you can’t help but die of laughter as Chandler tries to beat Ross in an arm wrestling contest to prove to Monica and Phoebe that he is way tougher than they think.

3. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody – “The Ghost of Suite 613”

When I was a kid, it wasn’t officially Halloween until this episode of the Suite Life of Zack and Cody played about a hundred times throughout the month of October.

I remember thinking it was the absolute freakiest thing ever when Esteban went all ghost whisperer in the middle of the haunted hotel room to try and summon the spirit that supposedly died there years ago. Luckily, the whole thing was just a prank to get revenge on Zack and his mischievous antics. That is until Cody’s lost blanket is returned by the actual spirit herself. You really can’t argue that this episode is a classic.

4. That’s So Raven – “Don’t Have A Cow”

While we’re on the topic of nostalgia for Disney Channel shows, we can’t not talk about this Halloween episode of That’s So Raven where Raven and Chelsea literally turn into cows.

When our favorite duo don’t receive an invite to Alana’s Halloween party, they mess around with an old spell book to wish for an invitation and the ability to become popular to win the costume contest. However, a cow pin on Chelsea’s shirt causes the spell to go awry and the two end up standing out in a way they would have never imagined.

Relatable!

5. Sabrina The Teenage Witch – “A Halloween Story”

Being that Halloween is the most important holiday of the year for witches, the ultimate teenage crisis occurs in this episode of Sabrina The Teenage Witch when Sabrina is torn between her boyfriend’s Halloween party and a family affair.

In an attempt to be in two places at once, Sabrina clones herself and sends her stand-in to Harvey’s party as she attempts to combat her super annoying relatives. However, her plan isn’t exactly up to par when her clone streaks naked in attempt to liven up Harvey’s party.

6. How I Met Your Mother – “The Slutty Pumpkin Returns”

What’s an episode of How I Met Your Mother without Ted searching for the love of his life?

This episode kicks off with Ted telling his kids about how he lost the number of a girl dressed up as a “Slutty Pumpkin” ten years ago at a rooftop Halloween party. When he comes across the costume years later in the window of a store, he convinces the owner to give him the information of the girl who wore it years ago.

After finally meeting up with his long lost love, he discovers that there’s actually no spark between them at all.

7. Pretty Little Liars – “This Is A Dark Ride”

In this uber creepy episode of Pretty Little Liars, the girls attend a ghost train party where they are serenaded by guest star Adam Lambert. As if that isn’t epic enough, the episode is filled with all around jaw-dropping moments including the death of Garrett, Aria being nearly pushed off of a train and Ali’s body served on ice. Plus, the costumes are super sick. What else would you expect from the liars?
