Sorry Ghost Return With “no disdain” and Announce West Coast Tour
What does a band do after racking up 130 million views, 350k followers, and a fanbase that proudly calls itself Sogovians?
For Sorry Ghost, the answer comes in the form of a new single. “no disdain” follows January’s “inside voice,” and finds the Los Angeles indie-rock quartet leaning further into the chemistry that’s been fueling their rapid rise.

“no disdain” kicks off with someone asking how the drums should sound. Then the drums answer. Guitars crackle in behind them, bright and immediate. What follows isn’t so much a song moving from point to point as one unfolding in real time. The textures drift through indie rock, brush against Midwestern emo, and even graze something like jazz for a few seconds. The shifts arrive without fanfare. The band just lets it happen.
From Louisiana and now settled in Los Angeles, the four-piece brings together childhood friends Matthew Polito (guitar) and Daniel Anton (bass/vocals) with Tate Silver (drums) and Sean Duong (rhythm guitar/vocals). They first broke through in late 2024 with “box breathing,” a track that went viral less for the song itself than for the cooking discussion that preceded it in a live playthrough video.
The absurdity of the topic only made the moment more disarming and, somehow, more them. Since then, their releases have continued building momentum, landing placements on Spotify editorial playlists such as All New Rock and New Noise.
With “no disdain” out and their fan base growing, Sorry Ghost will hit venues across the West Coast this spring, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle, giving Sogovians and new listeners a chance to experience live the chemistry and nuance that make them one of Los Angeles’ most exciting emerging bands.
