Reva DeVito Will Never Be Done Speaking Up

Reva DeVito is a passionate, empowered singer who wants to change the world. Read our conversation with the talented babe below.

How would you describe your sound?
Sexy, sultry, grown.

What inspired you to create your debut EP “The Move”?
It took a little while to materialize but “The Move” is a collection of songs that celebrate moments from the past whether happy or sad, and ideas of the future.

Who are some of your musical inspirations?
Evelyn Champagne King, Prince, Sade, vintage Madonna, David Bowie.

How do you share the message of women’s empowerment?

By being a strong woman myself, supporting other women in the industry. Creating and collaborating in art that supports women’s rights. Speaking up for women in all aspects of life that are being pressured by a negative male narrative.

What other issues are important to you?
The black lives matter movement. The fight for water at Standing Rock. And saving the environment.

What are some of your dream goals?
To travel the world performing and creating music. To collaborate with incredible artists. To write screen plays and produce films. To curate audible and visual experiences that touch people’s emotions. ART!

What’s some advice you’d give to other girls?
Never stop working toward your goals no matter how many let downs you encounter, the beauty is in the journey and the creation of the work that you love! Also, don’t get caught up in relationships that don’t encourage you to be the greatest version of yourself, it’s a waste of your precious time.

What are some things you can’t live without?
Espresso, sunshine, high waisted pants, red wine, hoop earrings, bubble baths and my latex pillow.

How would you describe your style?
Heavily influenced by various vintage styles. Femme but tomboy at heart. Love bold and playful prints. 80s blouses, bombers and some fun sunglasses.

Dream collab?
Contemporary: Frank Ocean, classic: Patrice Rushen.
