People in North Carolina Are Secret Gay and Trans Porn Fiends

A recently passed law in North Carolina dictating which school bathrooms transgender students can use has spawned reactions from musicians like Bruce Springsteen, corporations like Paypal, but a blowback from the porn industry has given insight into another aspect of the state controversy: people in North Carolina love gay and trans porn.

Funny how that works, isn’t it?

A pornography website called XHamster decided to protest the law by making their website unavailable to North Carolina citizens. Anybody who tries to access the site meets a blank screen. Lol… good one.

The website, which will stay inaccessible until, hopefully, North Carolina repeals House Bill 2, the law passed on March 23 deciding gender identity isn’t a civil right necessary for protection under law, also reported that in the month March, the citizens of North Carolina searched  “transsexual” more than 400,000 times and “gay” more than 300,000.

That’s a lot of trans and gay-porn loving North Carolinians.

XHamster’s spokesperson Mike Kulich commented on the company’s decision, saying they plan to eventually replace the website’s current blank screen with a petition asking the law to be repealed.

“Hopefully, [the petition] will get as many signatures as the ‘transsexual’ searches.”
