People are now getting “reverse nose jobs” to add a bump
Are you thinking about getting a nose job to finally be rid of that tiny bump? If so, you might want to rethink that.
People are officially getting what Dr. Alexander Rivkin from Westside Aesthetics is calling the “reverse nose job.” Instead of smoothing out bumps and “fixing” a nose, people are paying thousands ($2,500 to be exact) to get bumps added to their shnozzes.

Dr. Rivkin has seen around 200 patients in their 20s-30s come in for this procedure that’s meant to add something unique to your nose. This really shocked me because getting nose jobs to rid your nose of “imperfections” has been around for a long time. What changed??
“This is because most of them have had some kind of rhinoplasty done at a young age and didn’t really have the time to think it all the way through,” Dr. Rivkin says. “Since they have undergone their rhinoplasties, they have now grown into themselves, and are more comfortable with their individuality. When these patients got their rhinoplasty in the past, they all explain they wanted to fit in. Now that they are in their 30s, they want to stand out. They are more comfortable with themselves and are seeking to return to their uniqueness. This procedure is an easy way to achieve that goal.”
People who once got nose jobs for “perfect” noses now think that their noses look too perfect, and they want to stand out, says Rivkin. The patients are looking to do anything crazy, though.
“The patients want a subtle imperfection like a small bump to give their nose character. But, not so much that it will take away from the aesthetic appearance,” Dr. Rivkin tells us.
Just like thick brows are a thing and thin brows are out, reverse nose jobs are taking over the “perfect” nose job.
“They feel that their rhinoplasty made them look too generic, took away their unique look and they want that unique look back. It seems the majority of the people who want to do this in my practice are usually in front of the camera,” Dr. Rivkin said. “‘Perfect’ features are no longer the goal; people want to be unique and to stand out, which I celebrate because uniqueness and individuality are always great, both in real life and on TV.”

Are you regretting your high school nose job? Don’t freak out because there’s now reverse nose jobs, and it’s basically the same kind of procedure. If you still want a nose job because you’re worried about imperfections, remember that there are people out there paying $2,500 to have your quirky, unique nose.
