Lanz Pierce’s “GET IT” Is the Anti-Establishment Anthem We Need Right Now

New York rapper and creative visionary Lanz Pierce just dropped “GET IT,” and it’s the kind of track that makes you want to burn down every social media algorithm that’s ever tried to tell you who to be. The single serves as both a certified banger and a middle finger to anyone still policing women’s sexuality, age, or authenticity in 2025.

Pierce channels classic Eminem energy—specifically drawing from “Role Model” and “My Name Is”—but flips the script entirely. Where Slim Shady was chaos for chaos’ sake, Pierce weaponizes that same no-holds-barred approach to dismantle double standards around gender performance and social media’s performative madness.

“It’s a bop, no doubt — but it’s also saying something,” Pierce explains. “Music that doesn’t just slap but also pushes back — against the boxes we’re told to fit into.”

This isn’t Pierce’s first rodeo challenging industry expectations. Discovered and signed by Jimmy Iovine to Interscope before turning 18, she toured with Snoop Dogg, hit major stages like Lollapalooza and SXSW, and earned recognition as a BMI ‘Who’s Next’ Songwriter alongside an emerging Lady Gaga. Legendary producer Nile Rodgers became an early mentor, calling her delivery “the most brilliant shit” he’d heard.

But here’s where Pierce’s story gets interesting: she walked away from the major label system in her twenties to build something entirely her own. She launched her own imprint, released three albums independently, and simultaneously built Luminary Creative Agency—a brand incubator that’s helped shape music-tech ventures including HiFi (acquired by Jack Dorsey’s Block Inc.) and platforms featuring everyone from Snoop Dogg to Ne-Yo.

Pierce also directs music videos and films, proving she’s not just rebelling against industry norms but actively rewriting them. Her approach reflects a broader shift among artists who refuse to be confined to single creative lanes or traditional industry hierarchies.

“GET IT” follows recent singles “Like That” and “Loved Her,” all building toward an EP that promises to showcase Pierce’s full range. The timing feels intentional—dropping razor-sharp cultural commentary disguised as club-ready hip-hop when the world needs both the message and the release.

Pierce represents something increasingly rare: an artist who built genuine credibility in multiple spaces without compromising her vision or values. “GET IT” suggests she’s just getting started dismantling whatever conventions still need dismantling.

“GET IT” is available on all streaming platforms now.
