TELL US ABOUT THE NAME KENTHEMAN ?

It was actually an accident, I needed a soundcloud name and Ken wasn’t available so I typed in KenTheMan and that became my soundcloud name. Then my first feature, they asked what I wanted to go by and I said Ken but they said, you should go by your SoundCloud name, KenTheMan is hard….so here we are.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A FEMALE MC?
The free form of expression and poppin’ my shit to a beat feels so much better than writing it in a diary.

I was a stripper for one day and made $10.00. LOL

I took a meeting and everything felt right for the first time. I would hope and pray for a JayZ collab, that would be a crazy thing!

My latest single is I Love A Freak, it’s super sexy, fun and super down south!


THAT VERSE ON MOVE WAS SO GOOD WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION WHEN
WRITING YOUR RAPS?

Well I actually had writer’s block when Connie sent the open but her bars were so great and her flow was so great it inspired me to create a verse, so she got me out of my writer’s block at that time. I didn’t even think my verse was that good so I’m shocked that everyone likes it.


POUND TOWN FREESTYLE ATE YOU NEED TO HIT UP SEXXY RED MAKE A POUND TOWN 3 OR SOMETHING?

I am actually a fan of Sexy Red, it might not be a Pound Town 3 but I got something I want her to get on!


HOW DID YOUR COLLABORATIONS WITH KALIII COME ABOUT?

We’ve been friends for a while now, we met on Rhythm & Flow and have been locked in since. She came over to my house one Thanksgiving and we created our first song together and went to record it so now when we hear a song that fits for each other we just always send it for collaboration. She’s my favorite
girl in the world.

HOW DO YOU JUGGLE BEING A MOM AND A RAPPER?

I just make sure that I am never gone for longer than three days at a time because it’s most important to me to be present with my baby during the most vital years. I just make sure I put him first at all times.


WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR 16-YEAR-OLD SELF?

I would tell myself boys suck and you do not want a boyfriend right now. And whatever you do, make sure you put your best foot forward and never give up. There are big things in store for you, you will find your way.
