Seeing as you’re a boss, what do you think of the word bossy- own it or not?
When a man gives out orders, he’s seen as a leader where as when a woman gives out orders, we’re considered bossy and less feminine. I own up to the fact that I am bossy if that means that I know what I want, not afraid to express my opinion, and get what I want.

What does girl power mean to you?
To me it’s not about just girl power, it’s power to the all the people so we can all live in equality!
How did you start your blog?
I started my blog Song of Style about 6 years ago with the intention of starting an interior design blog. I always loved taking photos and used to share them on my Facebook, MySpace or Xanga, but after I started the blog I started sharing my personal outfit photos which made Song of Style into a fashion blog.
What do you think of Instagram and where do you see it in the future?
I love how easy you can stay updated with your friends via Instagram and how easy it is to discover new people. It’s also great that a lot of people are now able to monetize it. I don’t see it going away anytime soon!

Do you think it’s tougher getting to where you are than your male equivalents?
As an interior designer, yes it’s tough working in a field where most people who work for you are men, such as the contractors and laborers because they just simply don’t like listening to women. I used to have a male assistant and every time I gave the contractor orders, instead of looking at me, he’d talk to my assistant!
As a fashion blogger, I never felt that being a woman was a disadvantage. I love being a woman!
Do you bring your boss-ness and dominate personally into other parts of your life, like the bedroom?
Absolutely. I do it whenever I want instead of waiting for it!
Do you think you intimidate people around you?
I probably do because I’m so straight forward and usually know what I want.
Plans for the rest of the year:
Traveling as always and my super boss sister and I are launching our own t-shirt line where we’ve designed everything from the fabric to prints!
