Fran Fine from “The Nanny” is the fashion icon of our dreams and this is how you can dress like her
If you didn’t watch “The Nanny” on Nick@Nite way past your bedtime, did you even have a childhood?
If not, you clearly missed out because Fran Fine (the iconic, funny, and undeniably lovable nanny on the show) was exactly that – FINE. She was also never caught dead in anything less than a perfectly-dressed-for-the-occasion outfit.
Plus, she did end up marrying Mr. Sheffield (even if it took 4 1/2 seasons), which is why we could all take a few hints from this living legend. Whether it’s short shorts or mini skirts, this is the guide you need to dress just like style icon Nanny Fine in 2018.
1. Co-ord Sets
Kim K who? Fran is the OG matching set queen – and we’re not talking earth tone sports bras and bike shorts. Get out of your comfort zone and reach for a set with a bold print or a unique shape.
I like this denim set from PrettyLittleThing or, if you’re feeling really extra, try out this leopard print number.

2. Sports Jerseys
Sporty, but make it fashion. We all know athleisure is in, but it’s time to take it to the next level. Forget sneakers, pair your next look with sheer black tights and stilettos!
Try out this cute dress from Missguided – and if I were you, I’d pick up these shoes too.
3. Mini Skirt + Turtleneck Combo
There is never a skirt or dress too busy for a black turtleneck to fix. At least that’s what Fran thinks.
Try out this hot pink moto skirt with a classic black turtleneck.
4. Faux Fur
No look worth doing is ever complete without a little (faux) fur. If you’re looking to make an entrance, even with the most casual of clothes, throw on a (matching) fur coat and you are instant glamour.
With Fran more is more so don’t be afraid to pick up this houndstooth faux fur coat.

5. Little Black Dress
When you’re a nanny trying to get your millionaire boss to fall in love with you, you can’t exactly skimp out on skin. But, when you’ve been seen in almost every print and color imaginable to the human brain, sometimes a simple look is the way to go.
Slip on that little black dress! But, we’re still channelling Fran here, so a cute little novelty bag wouldn’t hurt, would it?
So remember, show off what you’ve got, laugh a little, and maybe you too can find a handsome British millionaire with a townhouse in New York City (even if you aren’t a Jewish girl from Flushing, Queens).
