Emma Stone’s Jokes Have Allegedly Been Stolen & Given to Dudes
One of our fave female actresses is still having to deal with unequal treatment in Hollywood due to sexism.
In an new interview with Rolling Stone, Emma Stone revealed that some of her jokes were given to her male co-stars after she had improvised them.
“In the past, making a movie … I’ve been told that I’m hindering the process by bringing up an opinion or an idea,” she said, continuing:
“I hesitate to make it about being a woman, but there have been times when I’ve improvised, they’ve laughed at my joke and then given it to my male co-star. Given my joke away. Or it’s been me saying, ‘I really don’t think this line is gonna work,’ and being told, ‘Just say it, just say it, if it doesn’t work we’ll cut it out’ – and they didn’t cut it out, and it really didn’t work!'”
No, girl, make it about being a woman because that would never happen to a man. Seriously, what the literal fuck? Women can’t even have an opinion or be funny without having their own jokes ripped from them and given to men who directors think might make them funnier.
