CONTENT CREATOR EMMA BROOKS PLANS ON GROWING PRESENCE IN THE FASHION SPACE

Emma Brooks is a lover of all things beauty, fashion & lifestyle and her career as a content creator reflects that. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to be successful in this field keep reading to learn all about how Emma did it!

FEATURE INTERVIEW:

How did you get your start in content creation? Tell us your story.

I had just moved to L.A. for an internship at a fashion PR firm and started creating content regularly for fun. I had one year to figure out how to make a living here and 8 months into it I started to grow a following online. It was perfect timing because my internship had just come to an end and I realized being behind the scenes wasn’t my passion. I moved to L.A. for fashion and film, and learned creating content really inspired me.

How do you balance sharing your life with strangers and maintaining a certain level of privacy?

I’m definitely still figuring out that balance. I’m a very open person and think it’s important to share who I am with people. I want to let people in and let them see the real me. It is all about boundaries and being considerate with yourself and others – especially if you are going through something and deciding whether or not to share it in the moment.

How does your content differ on each platform?

I really show all the different facets of myself across each platform. Snapchat is more in the moment and daily check-ins. TikTok is anything I want it to be and is also like a stream of consciousness. Instagram is where I prioritize showing my love for fashion, books, fragrance, and little glimpses of my friends and life.

If you could give advice to anyone looking to have a successful career in content creation, what are 3 things that you would have them start or stop ASAP?

Start posting all the time! Whatever it is you want to post, just post it. Stay true to you and be consistent.

Don’t overthink it.

Don’t reading comments.

How would you define your fashion style?

It’s a mixture of feminine and masculine. I love to tap into both sides of myself independently, but I also love combining the two. For me, sometimes masculine means I feel “cool” and more street-style. Feminine is when I feel pretty and “hot.” It’s all about how you wear the clothes.

What are your favorite beauty products that you can’t live without?

One of my favorite products I’m using right now is called Acne Assassin by Surreal Skincare. I LOVE this product so much and it does wonders for my skin. I also love using Artisan of Skin Bioglycolic Cream at night. The two together with a thick moisturizer is a beautiful combo.

Walk us through your ideal self-care day.

I would wake up early to make coffee and lay in bed while I play the New York Times games. Make myself a nice breakfast and then take a scenic drive to Malibu. I would spend the day outside with my friends and read my book. Then head home to make dinner and watch a movie or read.

What fashion and beauty trends do you think will be popular this fall?

Boots and darker denim! I think that there will be lots of layering with muted colors.

What’s next for Emma Brooks?

Like most 22 year old’s, I’m still figuring out everything that I want for myself – it’s changing every day. Right now, I’m focused on growing my presence in the fashion space and finding ways to continue to make my mark, launching my first book club in the Fall and studying to become a better actress.
