David Lynch Is Launching A Music Festival This Week

One of our favorite directors, David Lynch, will be hosting a 2 day music and arts festival appropriately titled, Festival of Disruption at the glorious Ace Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles this fall. The name of the event comes from a quote by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, “life is a festival of disruption,” and yup… life most definitely is.

Lynch gathered an amazing lineup of artists as only he can do. Robert Plant & the Sensational Space Shifters will be joined by the angelic voices of St. Vincent and Rhye and badass electronica producer, Jon Hopkins. More musical guests will include mega-babe Sky Ferreira, experimental pop duo, Xiu Xiu, and Angelo Badalamenti. And of course, the festival will pay homage to Lynch’s cult series Twin Peaks with a Lynch-curated art gallery.

Talks will be given by Frank Gehry, Mel Brooks, Laura Dern and Kyle MacLachlan. Debbie Harry and Chris Stein from Blondie (duh) are also on the impressive list of speakers. Okay, you can freak out now because we are too.

The festival takes place on October 8th and 9th and tickets go on sale Friday, June 24, at 10am, starting at $199 for a two-day general admission pass. Snag ’em while you can — this event is not to be missed.
