7 Tattoo Artists Responsible For Your Fav Celebs’ Ink
There are a few ways to go about picking a new tattoo artist. You can ask friends for recommendations, comb Instagram, or maybe, just maybe, you can google where Cara Delevingne gets her ink done and follow in her BACON-stamped footsteps.
If the last option is your style, we’ve put together a list of some of Hollywood’s favorite tattoo artists. Even if you aren’t the tattoo type, you’ll def want to add them to your Instagram feed. You never know when Kylie Jenner will pop up.
1. JonBoy
Originally made famous by Kendall Jenner’s small white dot on the inside of her finger, JonBoy works out of West4Tattoo in the West Village. His tattoo style is small, fine-lines and delicate placement. He’s so chill with his celeb clientele that he even let Kylie Jenner tat him. Other famous clients include Justine Skye, Chloe Grace Moretz, Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber.
2. Dr. Woo
One of Mark Mahoney’s proteges and now popular artist at the Shamrock Social Club, Dr. Woo creates some of the most intricate, 3D geometric looking tattoos that appear to almost stand off the skin. He also has almost 1 million followers on Instagram, and his celebrity client list includes Drake, Ellie Goulding and Sarah Hyland.
3. BangBang
He might be NYC’s most notorious celeb tattoo artist. BangBang has tatted Kylie Jenner and some of Hollywood’s hottest A-listers on the low, and most of his clients you wouldn’t even expect. He’s also known for being an on the go artist, inking celebs in some wild places, like Justin Bieber while flying on his private jet, and Katy Perry at the Super Bowl. Other celebs that have a BangBang tat include Rihanna, Katy Perry, Cara Delevingne, and many others.
4. Sean from Texas
Known for his font style and ironically pessimistic tattoos, Hollywood-based Sean from Texas has tatted Brooke Candy and many others. He travels around a lot visiting different tattoo shops, but he always posts on Insta where he’s going so if you want to make an appointment, check his page out.
5. Cally-Jo
Supermodel Jordan Dunn has had several tattoos done by English tattoo artist Cally-Jo. She’s also the one who did Rihanna’s most famous hand tattoo which appears to look like henna. 6. Lauren Winzer
She has tatted everyone from Miley Cyrus to Melanie Martinez. Lauren Winzer is an Australian based artist notorious for her cartoonish and colorful works. She even gave Miley that one planet tattoo that caused a stir because Miley put a pic on Instagram and called it Jupiter when it was actually Saturn. Lol. Other celebs include Katy Perry and Hayley Williams.
7. Mark Mahoney
Mark Mahoney is the owner and premier artist of Shamrock Social Club in Hollywood off Sunset Boulevard. He also is considered the pioneer of the black and grey tattoos with a single needle, a style which is used widely by other tat artists today. Mahoney has tatted many celebrities such as Rihanna, Notorious BIG, Britney Spears, Mickey Rourke, Cher, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
