BODi Super Trainer Lacee Green & Her Role In The Beauty Of Movement, Motivation, & Mindset
How many times have you looked in the mirror and passed judgment on your body? According to a study by Mario Palmer, it was found that 91% of women are unhappy with their bodies. This leads to concerns about unrealistic expectations to achieve what 53% of Gen Z women deem a “desirable” body type thanks to Barbie—based on a study from Harmony Healthcare IT.
According to “the curvy girl trainer” this sets off major alarm bells. “We are constantly comparing ourselves and not feeling good enough,” says BODi Super Trainer Lacee Green, whose fitness programs aim to not only combat this, but also allow women the opportunity to feel strong and vibrant.
Taking center stage as a certified fitness instructor and Super Trainer for BODi (formerly known as Beachbody), Lacee Green has devoted her life to helping people “find the joy and drop the judgment.”
Green – famous for her larger-than-life personality, and her motto “woot woot,” is blazing a trail as the first curvy, black female Super Trainer with online fitness programs focused on beginners. Her methodology revolves around helping participants ‘become the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves.’
“I’ve always loved sports,” explains Green. “I was always an athlete. Yes, my body has changed over the years, and I’ve been in many different sizes but always prioritized my health. I started teaching dance fitness, but once I saw the women in my classes just letting go, looking in the mirror, and finding their intrinsic motivation, I knew I had found my calling.”
“It takes time, just like anything else in fitness,” Green adds. “But the more you surrender to the process, the better. We all have to allow ourselves to be the beginners in anything new that we do. You are the writer of your own story. So, at any point, you can add a new character or change the chapter,” says the mother of teenage son Kayin, a budding bodybuilding enthusiast.
Green’s For Beginner’s Only program is clear and fun, helping you build a strong foundation in cardio, strength, core, and mobility exercises in just three weeks. It also helps you maintain motivation as you work. She also provides two optional workouts for an extra week, which can aid in your recovery and help you hone your abilities even more.
“My favorite quote is, ‘Every master was once a beginner. Every pro was once an amateur,’” she says. And so we all have to allow ourselves to be beginners.
One crucial lesson her mother taught her was never to return empty Tupperware. “This is how we should be in life – to return people better than you found and fill them up. When you can help somebody find that inner love for themselves, I think that’s really what it’s all about.”
“It’s crucial to surround yourself with people who make you feel valued, heard, and appreciated,” says Green. “Having this kind of support helps you to achieve great things in life. For example, this community has done wonders for me. I feel adored and supported here, and that’s something truly invaluable.”
Green emphasizes the need to validate representation in the fitness space. Star-jumping her way to the hot seat as a modifier for the #mbf and #mbfa cast and then “becoming the first curvy black female Super Trainer” has been a significant turning point in her life. “No matter how challenging life felt, or the times I got set back or knocked down, I never let the hard things in life change my smile or purpose,” she says.
If you are looking to start your fitness journey or reset a previous one, Lacee Green is committed to showing you that everyBODi is beautiful.
“I always believed in myself and kept going, and so should you.”
