Bella Hadid Has to Practice Smiling Because She Struggles With It
Bella Hadid is a great model, but a casual scroll through her Instagram will show that smiling is not something she does often.
While we believe that women should never be forced to smile if they don’t want to, when you’re walking in the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, you don’t really have a choice.
That’s just what you do.
You smile, you blow kisses to the crowd and you look like you’re having the time of your life dressed as a sexy shrub, or a sexy engineer, or whatever sexy thing you get dressed like.
But while smiling is a move that most of us have down by the time we’re two, it’s an act that Bella Hadid still struggles with.
“I am not a very good smiler on cue. I have to practice that a lot,†Bella told People. “I have to close my best friend and roommate’s door and put a big mirror in front of it so she can’t get out of her room so that I have a part of the apartment to walk and practice. It’s perfect for me, but she can’t really get out of her room.â€
Details. She continues in Zoolander-esque fashion:
“On the runway for high fashion you just don’t really think. You just walk and it’s an everyday thing. You do so many shows a day that it’s kind of you’re showing off the clothes… [The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show] is about personality. It’s about the lingerie, but you also have to keep a smile on your face. You have to interact. It’s a different experience than I am really used to.â€
You’re one in a million.
