Badass Beauty Tips From Certified Mob Wife Marissa Jade
Mob movies are some of the best in film history, and the women who star in them are just as iconic.
Mob WAGs (wive and girlfriends, duh) have a ridiculously glamorous, more-is-more aesthetic with an attitude to match. Take Karen Hill in “Goodfellas,” for example.
And Adriana La Cerva, whose constant squawks of “CHRISTOPHA!” were one of the highlights of “The Sopranos.”
And Jennifer Lawrence in “American Hustle,” who is a generic organized crime wife with a mob wife sensibility.
So when we got a chance to interview Marissa Fiore, a.k.a. Marissa Jade, an actual mob wife who starred on “Mob Wives: The Last Stand,” (and has appeared on “Gossip Girl”!) we couldn’t resist. Read on for her favorite beauty tips.
What does mob wife beauty mean to you?
A strong independent sophisticated woman with beauty, brains, and brawn.
Mob wives always keep it tight — do you work out or are you just #blessed?
A little bit of both. I’m naturally fit like my mother but I was always active growing up. I was always very athletic and very into sports.
Who’s your favorite mob wife or girlfriend from movie and TV history? What beauty tips do you take a way from her?
Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface. She was absolutely stunning in that movie and her look was so natural and effortless and that’s what I try to achieve with my everyday look as well.
Mob wives are known for big hair and a heavy makeup look — would you say this is part of your beauty philosophy?
No, not really. I don’t wear heavy makeup and I most definitely don’t have a bouffant. I guess I’m the new, fresher mob wife look.
What are the drug store beauty products you can’t live without?
L’oreal Butterfly Mascara
NYC Bronzer in “Sunny”
Yes to Grapefuit Pore Perfection Toning Mist
Milani Cosmetics blush in “Luminoso”
Maybelline BB Cream
What are the luxury beauty products you can’t live without?
I’m a big fan of Tom Ford and YSL. All you need is some mascara, tinted moisturizer and lip-gloss.
If you could only wear one makeup look for the rest of your life (e.g. smoky eye, red lip, etc.) what would you choose?
I like more of the natural look. Nude lips, sheer tones, and a little bit of highlight.
Do you ever leave the house with makeup? Why or why not?
I do, just a little tinted moisturizer though because I feel it protects my skin. I know that sounds weird, but there is so much dirt in the atmosphere. If I dont walk out with a layer of moisturizer on I will break out.
