FEATURE INTERVIEW:
TALK TO US ABOUT YOUR LATEST SINGLE.
My latest single is called “Luna“, I did it in collaboration with Dezko a very talented Colombian Dj and producer. We wanted to create a carefree, vibey tune that resonated with summer, and so we did. Luna or “Moon” in English is an electronic house song with influences from afro, melodic but also minimal tech music. It talks about admiring a woman you love while she dances to the moon. I personally loved the result of this song.
WHAT LYRIC FROM ANY OF YOUR SONGS HIT THE HARDEST FOR YOU AND WHY?
I have two personal lyrics I wrote with my whole heart. First “A veces somos esclavos hasta de nuestro propio Ego” from ‘EGO’, which translates into “sometimes we’re slaves of our own egos” and secondly “¿Por qué no estuviste pa’ mi, cuando yo sí estuve pa’ ti?” from my favorite song ‘Change You’, which translates to “Why weren’t you there for me when I always was?”, this one in particular is very special to me because I wrote it during a really harsh time for me sentimentally, you just have to listen to the whole song to understand the state I was going through.

HOW ARE YOU DISRUPTING THE CULTURE WITH YOUR MUSIC?
I think I get this question a lot and my answer is always the same. I believe I disrupt culture by not doing what is expected from a young Latina woman. As women people put their expectations towards us all the time, but being a Latin girl, it becomes even ten times more evident.
We are so stereotyped and painted in such a precise way, mainly to please male figures. I like to believe in Latin girl diversity and for example in my case I portray a more subtle, hopeless romantic persona, which is also very true in a Latin context, but doesn’t get shown as much. Latin girls wanting to make music are believing they can only do reggaetón to succeed, but I firmly believe we can do many other genres.
WHO ARE YOUR SHEROES?
My mom is my number one sheroe. She’s just my main inspiration since I was a little girl, but as in celebrities of course the it girl of all the it girls: Riri. I’m obsessed with Rihanna since I was like 9 years old. I find her so unapologetic (no pun intended), so fearless, her fashion is beyond l, her music is beyond, she is beyond. And on a much deeper level I will have to say Lana. I owe so much to her. The way I put love into words, the poetic manner in which I like to view life; I’m very influenced by Lana Del Rey.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR 17-YEAR-OLD SELF?
You are so young – stop thinking you’re old! I think maybe when I’m 30 I will be saying that to my 22-year-old self as well.

WHO IS YOUR DREAM COLLABORATION?
I have many, but to name a few: Rihanna, Gessafelstein, Arca, Joji, James Blake, Lana.
WITH IT BEING FESTIVAL SEASON, HOW DO YOU KEEP YOUR GLAM ROUTINE WHILE ON ROAD?
Skincare is much more important than makeup. I’m a big skincare girly, so obvi I’m taking my makeup off right when I finish performing, so I can try my best to have nice skin the next day. I suffered from severe acne as a kid, so I think I’m a bit more cautious because of that. I always see this quote on TikTok “High maintenance, to then be low maintenance” and I couldn’t agree more.
WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY ON SONGWRITING?
If it cringes you don’t say it. Keep it sentimental. Never let anyone impose their ideas on your track if you don’t vibe with them.
WHAT IS NEXT FOR YOU?
I’m working on so many beautiful things, I have a very big project coming soon, I’d say it’s my biggest one yet! But it’s still a surprise!
