Amelia Grey Believes Creativity and Risk-Taking Separate Successful Influencers From Everyone Else
While many influencers speak about algorithms, content strategy, or brand deals, Amelia Grey believes the biggest factor behind success online has nothing to do with trends or luck.
According to Amelia, mindset plays a far bigger role than most people realise.
After building a large online audience across platforms like TikTok and Instagram (@meliasothick), Amelia says one lesson became clear very quickly: people who create unconventional lives usually think differently long before success arrives.
“Sometimes success requires stepping outside of the norm and doing something unconventional that everyone around you doesn’t understand,” Amelia says.
Her comments come after several years of rapid social media growth that transformed her career completely. Viral videos reaching tens of millions of views helped Amelia turn online content into a full-time income stream, eventually allowing her to leave traditional work behind and focus entirely on social media and OnlyFans.
Still, she says many people only see the final result and completely miss the mental pressure attached to building an unconventional career publicly.
Amelia Grey Says Most People Stay Stuck Trying to Avoid Judgment
Amelia believes fear of judgment stops many people from pursuing opportunities that could genuinely change their lives.
Raised in a conservative Iranian household after moving to Australia during childhood, Amelia spent years battling guilt and shame connected to her appearance, career choices, and public image. Family expectations and cultural pressure created constant friction once her online presence began growing rapidly.
Instead of pretending criticism never affected her, Amelia openly admits it consumed her mindset for a long time.
“I was in cycles of denial and being angered by what people thought of me,” she explains. “It made it hard to fully commit to this role.”
She says the breakthrough happened after she stopped trying to fight everyone’s opinions and started accepting that judgment would always exist no matter what path she chose.
That mindset shift changed how she approached both social media and life in general.
“There’s a cost to everything,” Amelia says. “People need to choose their battle and what they’re willing to live with.”
According to Amelia, people often romanticise freedom and success without acknowledging the sacrifices attached to them. She believes every lifestyle comes with consequences, including conventional careers, traditional expectations, and socially accepted paths.
Amelia Grey Turned Viral Attention Into Financial Freedom
Before social media success, Amelia worked regular jobs while attempting to follow a more traditional future. She previously worked as a nurse and call centre representative before eventually shifting fully into content creation.
Everything changed after she began posting online consistently following cosmetic surgery at 21. Her appearance attracted attention quickly, but Amelia says creativity and understanding social media helped her maintain momentum once viral exposure arrived.
Several videos exploded online and pushed her audience growth into another level entirely, with clips reaching 50 million, 40 million, and 20 million views.
Today, Amelia says she earns five figures monthly through OnlyFans and social media, giving her a level of financial freedom she never experienced growing up.
Despite public assumptions around influencer careers, Amelia says online success requires much more discipline and adaptability than people expect.
Social media trends change constantly, audiences shift quickly, and platforms reward creators inconsistently. Amelia explains that frustration alone never solves those problems.
Instead, she focused on learning how platforms functioned and studying why certain content performed better than others.
Amelia Grey Says Shame Never Fully Disappears
One of the strongest themes throughout Amelia’s story is her perspective on shame and self-acceptance.
She says many people wrongly assume confidence means becoming emotionally unaffected by criticism. In reality, Amelia believes confidence comes from learning how to move forward despite discomfort.
“Shame doesn’t really ever go away,” she says. “You just stop letting it dictate your decisions.”
Amelia also points toward her body modifications as a major source of both public fascination and cultural tension. While cosmetic surgery remains highly common in Iran, she says women still face intense judgment around sexuality and appearance, especially in conservative communities.
For Amelia, building a public platform eventually became bigger than internet fame itself. She says the deeper purpose now involves showing people that success remains possible even after difficult beginnings, social rejection, or years spent feeling disconnected from their environment.
“Anyone can build success, even someone who came from an unfortunate background,” Amelia says. “Drive, creativity, and mindset can completely change your life.”
