JennyFax Finds Beauty in Contradiction for Spring/Summer 2027
For Spring/Summer 2027, JennyFax finds inspiration in the contradictions that shaped designer Jen-Fang Shueh’s world. Titled Just Don’t Be Happy, Don’t Be Happy, the collection takes its name from a personal philosophy rooted in her upbringing—the lingering belief that becoming too happy or celebrating too much might tempt fate, and that a little caution could somehow bring good luck.

That tension carries throughout a collection informed by memories and influences that don’t necessarily belong together, but have always coexisted in Shueh’s life. Growing up in Asia with parents fascinated by European royal gardens and courtly aesthetics, attending a deeply religious Christian school despite not being particularly religious herself, and remembering the ordinary details of home—from an old family sofa to Saturday afternoons with her siblings and mountains of laundry—have all found their way into JennyFax’s creative universe. Rather than choosing between cultures, traditions or ideas, Shueh finds inspiration in the spaces between them, transforming childhood memories, faith, doubt and the beauty of everyday life into something distinctly her own.
