From streetwear to the Runways of Paris and New York, Well-balanced Jewelry was everywhere. I’m all here for the fashion and beauty trends that swept us off our feet last year, but some of my favorite moments were with jewelry. Some of the highlights from the year were Kylie Jenner in an embellished Miu Miu mini dress with matching arm bracelets, Hailey Bieber’s frosted winter birthday look complete with a silver necklace and stunning rings, and Tyla’s “Push 2 Start” music video where we saw the comeback of bedazzled skin—reminiscent of Britney Spears’ iconic “Toxic” music video. Check out our tips for layering your jewles below.
Here at Galore, we’re all about staying ahead of trends. The key to successful jewelry layering is to curate a collection of pieces that resonate with your style—mixing and matching jewelry items to create depth and dimension. Experiment with textures and materials to add depth and character to your layered look. Combining delicate, dainty pieces with bolder statement items creates a harmonious contrast. Layering doesn’t mean overloading; choose a focal point for your jewelry ensemble, like a statement necklace or a bold cuff bracelet. Build around this focal piece with complementary items. Gone are the days of sticking to a single metal. Embrace the beauty of mixed metals to create a unique and eclectic style. Layering jewelry is all about personal expression. Don’t be afraid to mix and match pieces that hold sentimental value. Customizing your layered look makes it uniquely yours.
1. Selecting the Right Pieces
When pairing your favorite jewles together for a night out, understanding which rings to compliment your earrings with is key. Opt for classic pieces or gold with pops of color for shine. I love Anitta’s button-down top with this harness inspired chain, it creates a sort of illusion. I adore what For Love and Lemons offers on their website, Investment pieces that will last a lifetime, Check them out HERE.
2. MIXING METALS
Embracing the beauty of mixing your metals is key to expressing your personal style. Celebrities like SZA and Rihanna have taken this trend to the max last year. I love this look on SZA, it’s sort of all over the place but controlled by her confidence – have confidence with any outfit you wear, embracing your jewles through styling techniques can make or break your look.
3. CREATING A FOCAL POINT
Layering your jewles doesnt mean overloading. Choosing a focal point for your outfit means to compliment one another. See here, Kali Uchis wore a locket style charm necklace with her jewled out belly-button ring and simple stacked rings leads the eye on three areas: Neck, face and fingers.
4. CUSTOMIZE YOUR JEWELS
What better way to saying something with words – customized Jewlery. We saw this trend heavy in the late 90’s with “Best friend” charms or Dog Tags with the dates or names stamped on them. I abosultely love what my good friend and designer, Steff Eleoff, has done with this trend, giving her customers the opportunity to customize their necklaces in either gold or silver. Check the necklaces out HERE.
