MABEL RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘LOOK AT MY BODY PT. II’FEATURING SHYGIRL
British award-winning, platinum-selling artist Mabel returns today with a brand-new single and music
video for “Look At My Body Pt. II” featuring Shygirl, out now! The official music
video made its global broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop and across MTV’s
global network of channels, as well as on the Paramount Times Square billboards.
Joining forces with London’s queen of sexual reclamation and perfect partner-in-crime; Shygirl, “Look At
My Body Pt. II” is an unrepentant ode to owning your sexuality and womanhood. The accompanying
video directed by David Wilson, sees Mabel and Shygirl unpick the male gaze, flipping well-known
cultural moments dating back to Eve and the Forbidden Fruit. Produced by MXM and Wolf Cousins, the
powerful single marks a new era for Mabel which sees her at her most authentic and unapologetic!
Speaking about the single and video Mabel reveals, “This record is about questioning the male gaze and
the power of the divine feminine. I’ve often felt judged by my appearance, and I’ve let comments get the
better of me. Now, I’m at a stage in my life though where I’m celebrating my body without letting it define me. I wanted to let anyone who’s ever underestimated me or judged the book by its cover know that I’m ok with them doing that now because I know who I am.”
