The Next ‘Star Wars’ Movie Stars Yet Another Badass British Bombshell

A new trailer came out for the latest “Star Wars” movie today. And while everyone else is freaking out about the plot and the storm-troopers’ outfits (?!?!) we’re obsessing over the lead actress.

Just like “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” this new installment stars a badass British babe as the lead. Felicity Jones, who you might recognize from “The Theory of Everything” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” (or the red carpets for their premieres because you prob didn’t see the movies), plays a rebel fighter with a major attitude a perfectly smudged smokey eye.

So why do all the new “Star Wars” movies star badass British brunettes? We have no clue, especially since British accents probably don’t exist in outer space.

But we’re down! So we’re counting 11 more British leading ladies who paved the way for Felicity.

1. Daisy Ridley in “Star Wars Episode VI: The Force Awakens”

She may look sweet and innocent but Daisy Ridley played a true boss in December 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

2. Keira Knightley in “Pirates of the Caribbean”

Keira Knightley is pouty and borderline boring in most of her movies, but in “Pirates of the Caribbean,” she had many shining moments of badassery. And you probably saw the trailer for this move so many times that Keira Knightley muttering “try wearing a corset” is seared into your brain for life.

3. Emma Watson in the “Harry Potter” movies

Emma showed early feminist tendencies when she totally nailed the part of precocious British child Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” movies by being smarter than literally everyone around her, especially the boys, at all times.

4. Elizabeth Hurley in “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery”

Another cool af British babe who is way too smart for the idiot dudes around her, Elizabeth Hurley’s character in “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” was the perfect spoof of the sexy Bond girl.

5. Naomie Harris in “Skyfall”

OMFG that was stressful. Naomie Harris a.k.a. Eve Moneypenny is a boss.

6 through 11. All five Spice Girls in “Spice World”

Okay, we’re cheating here with five for the price of one. But the Spice Girls proved that if you’re entertaining/insane enough, you don’t need singing talent to be the most famous singers in the world. What could be more badass than that?
